When Unity Prevailed

In an age when mankind was yet to discover fire, there were two tribes: the Hara and the Yuna. In the backdrop of this primordial period, the law of the jungle ruled, and the tribes lived their lives based on the creed of survival of the fittest. It was in this brutish world that a tale of unexpected friendship and unity unfolded.
The Hara tribe was known for their brute strength and unmatched courage. Meanwhile, the Yuna tribe were skilled in stealth, speed, and utilized ingenious traps for hunting. These tribes, however, were hostile to each other, fueled by generations of animosity and mistrust. This was until the day came when both the Hara and the Yuna faced an implacable foe.
The mammoth beast, Oro, was a terror to all. Oro had a thick hide that arrows could barely pierce and a monstrous size that made the Hara warriors look like dwarves. He roamed the lands destroying all that came under his mighty foot: trees, homes, innocent lives. Both the tribes lived in the shadow of fear, losing their people to the beast.
In desperation, both the tribes sought the counsel of their respective elders. Among the Hara, it was wise Old Dara, and in the Yuna, it was shaman Mika. While their tribes had been enemies for ages, Dara and Mika were sons of the same blood. Years ago, in search of peace, a marriage was arranged between the clans; Mika from the Hara wedded a fair maiden from the Yuna. But the union could not withstand the murderous backdrop of rivalry, leading to an inevitable fallout and strengthened loathing. Dara and Mika, once brothers, were now leaders of opposing clans. But they saw wisdom the others could not.
A clandestine meeting was arranged, under the starlit sky, by the ancient olive tree, halfway between the two tribe's territories. They decided to unite their tribes to stand a chance against Oro. For the greater good, they set aside their generations-old feud. After days of arduous diplomacy and mediation, they managed to arrange a council between their tribes.
The council witnessed fiery resistance from both sides, but Dara and Mika played their cards right. They reminded their people of the threat looming over their existence. They stressed the need for survivorship and proposed a united assault on Oro. The plan was simple yet intricate: the Haras with their strength would engage Oro directly, while the Yuna, with their stealth and speed would become the striking arrow in the shadows, aiming for the beast's eyes and joints.
United, their dual force faced Oro, and after a fierce and deadly battle, Oro fell. The victory had cost so much on both sides, many brave souls were lost, but it had given birth to something their tribes had lost long ago - fellowship.
Old enmities started to fade, co-existence found its way among the Hara and Yuna, and this unity led to the tribes’ unprecedented prosperity, and hence, they thrived.
A tale that started with hostility and animosity ended in unity and friendship. Thus, even in the harshest circumstances where survival was the ultimate law, unity found a way, proving that sometimes, the whole is indeed greater than the sum of its parts.
