Unseen Travellers of Time

In a world unknown, unseen, and untouched by humanity, creatures beyond our comprehension roam freely. These beings, called Temporals, possess the ability to manipulate time. They have witnessed the birth and death of civilizations, the rise and fall of empires, and even the dramatic changes of the Earth itself.
Once upon a time, in this time-bending world, two friends named Orius and Eran lived. They were exceptionally close, bound by a friendship that transcended timelines. Often, they travelled together, leaving imprints on various periods of time. However, their personalities were starkly contrasting. Orius, the older of the two, was thoughtful and collected. Eran, on the other hand, was carefree and impulsive.
One day, Eran got a wild idea. Infatuated with human tales of romance and valor, he decided to plant himself in the heart of an emerging human civilization in Ancient Rome. Despite his friend's warnings about the strict laws of temporal interference, his mind was made up. Eran was captivated by the thought of living among humans, experiencing their limited time-bound lives.
Orius, unable to persuade Eran, decided to follow him on this journey. His responsibility reigned over his objection, he didn't want his friend to face potential threats alone. So, they set off on their daring journey to Ancient Rome.
Emerging in Rome's era, they were intrigued by the human lifestyle. Orius remained concealed, monitoring, while Eran took on a human form. He immersed himself in the culture, relishing in the drama and excitement of human existence.
As weeks turned into months, Eran fell deeply in love with a Roman maiden named Lyria. Her spirit was bold, free, and captivating. She seemed to embody all the things he loved about this human life. Their love story was as passionate as the land of Rome itself.
Meanwhile, Orius observed a gradual change in the temporal orders. Eran's presence was causing ripples in the timeline. The continuum was bending, taking twists and turns that were not originally written. Dilemma gnawed at Orius as he grappled with rectifying the situation without hurting his friend.
One day, Eran came to Orius with joyous news, 'I am to wed Lyria,' he proclaimed. This hit Orius hard. 'This will cause further ripples, Eran. Your happiness may bring irreversible losses to the continuum,' he warned. Unfortunately, his plea fell on deaf ears.
The wedding was a grand affair, celebrations echoed across Rome. It was apparent that the beautiful love story would soon morph into a legend that would be told for centuries. With a heavy heart, Orius attended the ceremony, helplessly watching the strands of time twine and twist dangerously.
Just as Eran and Lyria were pronounced man and wife, a blinding flash of light enveloped the space. The Temporals' Council had arrived. Eran was declared guilty of breaching the temporal laws. As punishment, he was stripped of his ability to traverse time. He was left trapped in the human timeline, his existence merged entirely with the human life he so desired.
On witnessing his friend's fate, Orius was heartbroken. He pleaded with the Council to let him share his friend's punishment, but they only granted him permission to live as a guardian angel to Eran, concealed from his sight, living in the human timeline but being spaceless, unseen, unheard, but felt.
After that, Orius watched over Eran, who lived his life as a human, growing old with Lyria, having children, and ultimately passing away. His love story with Lyria became a legend, as Orius had predicted. During these years, Orius realized the beauty of mortality, the sweet sorrow of love. He grieved his friend but cherished the fact that Eran lived a fulfilled life.
And so, the time proceeded in the unseen world of Temporals. The tale of Orius and Eran became a cautionary tale for all time-bound creatures with a longing eye on the mortal world. A tale of love, friendship and sacrifice spread across the continnum - a timeless tale in the Temporal world.
