The Zarain Love: An Intergalactic Tale
In an era where humans began to explore the reaches of other galaxies, there was a planet named Zara. The inhabitants of Zara looked much like humans but were technologically far more superior. Its luscious green forests, high mountains, not too different from what we know of Earth. Zara was ruled by a benevolent and wise king named Arris who had a son named Tayben.
Tayben, unlike his father, was not interested in diplomatic meetings or laws of the land. He was more besotted with inventions and astronomy. There was a particular quirk in him, a deep-rooted fascination about Earth. He had read about the planet and its primitive technology, its legends, its myths, and its culture. Earth fascinated him and passionately wanted to explore it.
Unbeknownst to his father, he started creating an experimental shuttle to travel from Zara to Earth. It took him five of Zara's years (equivalent to fifteen Earth years) to complete it. With a determination he got from his mother and brilliance from his father, he finally launched his shuttle alone towards the unknown.
Tayben's landing was far from smooth; the shuttle crashed into a dense forest. Adapting quickly to his surroundings, Tayben took on the shape of an Earthling meaning to blend and not raise alarm. His fascination turned into empathy as he began to learn about the people of Earth, their struggles, their happiness, the simplicity of their life without technology.
Yearning to blend further, he enrolled in a local college under the alias Tom Arris. Living among humans, he was introduced to the raw emotions, the sense of community and most surprisingly, to love. He met a beautiful young woman named Emily.
Emily was a science student who believed in aliens and outer space. Their shared fascination for science saw them spending hours discussing theories, ideas, and life beyond Earth. Tayben, withholding his real identity, grew closer to Emily both intellectually and emotionally. The secret of his real identity started making him uncomfortable.
Finally, he revealed his true identity to Emily. To his surprise, Emily, although a bit taken aback, accepted him. She had fallen in love with the person Tayben was and his extraterrestrial origins did not change anything for her.
However, their peace was short-lived as Tayben's shuttle was discovered, and news started spreading about an alien on Earth. Fearful for his life, Tayben decided to return to Zara, but he couldn’t leave Emily.
As he was prepping his shuttle, they were intercepted by authorities. Cornered, Tayben had no choice but to reveal his Zarain form, which scared everyone except Emily. In that instant, King Arris, who had been searching for Tayben, arrived with a rescue team. The moment was tense, and for the first time, Earthlings experienced contact with another life form.
Arris, not wanting any harm to come to earth or its dwellers, quickly explained their peaceful intentions and took Tayben back to Zara. But Tayben couldn’t leave Emily and, in a shocking turn of events, Emily chose to go with him.
Once they returned to Zara, Emily was treated kindly and given an option to return to Earth anytime she desired. However, Emily had chosen a life with Tayben and decided to stay on Zara. Her adventurous research-driven spirit found a new home and a new passion as she helped Zara understand more about Earth.
The impact of this event brought Earth into a new era where they knew they were not alone in this vast universe, opening up new discussions, alliances, and opportunities. And on Zara, Tayben finally found contentment, a life with Emily and his father; his passion for inventions and unraveling mysteries continued while Emily emerged as the bridge between Earth and Zara. A happy tale of love, choices, and a leap of faith into the unknown, uniting two planets and creating a tale for ages.
