The Wizard Of Lochlan Castle
Once upon a time in Prydwen, a land of valorous knights, fair maidens, and enchantments, stood the formidable Lochlan castle. This was not a castle of lire and song but shrouded with tales of curse by a wizard whose name had long been forgotten.
Years went by, and the kingdom knew peace, upheld under the rule of wise King Aedan. His queen, beautiful Naomhán, shared a profound bond of love with him. However, their happiness turned into things of dreams when Naomhán fell under a dark enchantment. She was now trapped in a coma. It was the castle's bane. The castle that was once resplendent was now a shadowy atrocity haunting Prydwen.
One fateful day, a minstrel named Elgan reached town. He was of medium build, with tousled hair and a warm smile always lined his lips. Carrying a harmonious voice and an assortment of musical tales, he dazzled the town with his bardsmanship. Learning about the queen's plight, like a true bard, he vowed to wrench the queen free from the wicked enchantment.
It was suggested that the wizard who had cursed the castle years ago held an antidote to the curse. This wizard resided in the Mystwood forest. With hope in his heart, Elgan ventured forth. The journey was outcry difficult but the minstrel met each challenge with his wit and courage. Finally, invoking the wizard's presence through an age-old requiem, the wizard materialized. He was an enigma clad in forest green. A test of wisdom and a melody of magic later, Elgan convinced the wizard to reveal the antidote. The wizard explained that the cure for the spell was an enchanted nectar, procured from the heart of the Mystwood, a fruit guarded by an emerald dragon.
Battling his fear, Elgan embarked on the quest. His flute, his strength, he used it to soothe the emerald dragon, lulling it into slumber. Underneath the shadowy guise of its enormous wings, he procured the fruit. Back at the wizard’s abode, the wizard turned the fruit into the promised nectar. Elgan remembered the wizard's words “This requires a heart full of love to be effective”.
Determined and hopeful, Elgan journeyed back to the castle. Accompanied by doubts of the townsfolk, he presented the potion to the king. King Aedan, confiding in Elgan's strength and determination, submissively asked him to proceed. Elgan, with a silent prayer, gave the potion to the queen.
Soon enough, a miraculous transformation came upon the queen. The color returned to her pale cheeks, and her body relaxed from its tense state. She opened her eyes, shining brighter than the morning sun, bringing immense joy to those around her.
The kingdom, once shrouded in misery, was now infused with jubilation and vitality. Life sprang back into Lochlan castle, and the townsfolk reveled in its glory. Elgan, honored and celebrated by all, basked in his triumph. But what he treasured the most were the queen's sincere gratitude and the faith that King Aedan bestowed in him. The minstrel found his place in the stars as Prydwen sang his melody for centuries that followed, the tale of courage, love, and the triumph of a humble bard in the form of melodies, ballads, and lullabies for every child born in Prydwen. They sang the tale of the Wizard of Lochlan Castle.
