The Voyage from Yesterday

In the dainty town of Dulcimer, nestled between the emerald serrations of the undulating hills, lived a widely renowned philosopher, Faulkner. He was a man of unfathomable intellect and inspiring charm, whose words held the capacity to instigate an era of metamorphosis.
But Faulkner, the wrathful god of knowledge, bore an overwhelming guilt. He owned a deep-rooted desire to reorder the past and correct the disarray of his younger self’s decisions. Weary of his continuous trial with remorse, Faulkner commissioned a grandeuр inventor Reuben to construct a machine capable of intervering the fabric of time.
Reuben, notorious as the town’s maverick, amalgamated his knowledge of science, technology, and the uncommon fragments of supernatural phenomena into a magnificent contraption— a Time Machine, the first-ever chronological chariot. Months turned into years as Faulkner's anticipation crescendoed into an almighty roar of curiosity.
When the time machine was finally complete, Faulkner's heart pounded like never before. His long-awaited dream of reshaping his past was within arm's reach, yet something felt unsettlingly unnatural about setting foot on an already traveled path. But, the philosopher had laid his heart bare to this singular purpose, and there was no turning back now.
Faulkner disappeared into the mist of uncertainty and nostalgia, navigating his chronological chariot through the tumultuous waves of time, making way to the cherished chapter of his youth. Reaching his desired quadrant, he found himself standing at the threshold of his childhood abode, ogling at the innocence and freedom dancing around. His heartstrings were plucked by the melody of his quaint past and his eyes - the windows to his soul - welled up with a cocktail of emotions.
Wiping away his tears, he sternly reminded himself of the purpose that had driven him to this moment. He was here to protect his young, oblivious self from the clutches of reckless decisions and doomed relationships. Yet, as Faulkner's older, wiser self met his younger, more vivacious self, his resolution wavered. His younger self, full of dreams and aspirations, was nothing but a reflection of his own hopes, once as bright as the northern star.
Engaging in enriching conversations with his younger incarnate, he served him the wisdom of years brewed into a hearty wisdom soup. Alongside imparting bookish knowledge, he made sure to ensure that the young Faulkner was well-equipped emotionally.
As the sands of time cascaded in the hourglass, Faulkner's ostensible motto of rebuilding his past metamorphosed into fostering the roots of his younger self's tree of life. His passion for aligning his past astutely gave way to the desire to see his younger self grow into a man of substance.
The voyage of several weeks came to an inconspicuous end, leaving Faulkner with an invaluable realization: The ship of life isn't meant to sail on the waters of the past but to charter the unexplored territory of the future. With a heavy heart and a treasure chest of memories, he returned to his original timeline, embracing the motif of 'Carpe Diem'.
Upon his return, everyone noticed something different about our beloved philosopher, a serene contentment resonated in his aura. Faulkner, who had set out on a perilous journey to relive the past, had returned home, cherishing his newfound acceptance of life's irreversible continuity. Thus, the voyage from yesterday didn't rewrite Faulkner's past; instead, it penned down an inspiring tale of self-realization and acceptance in the annals of Dulcimer.
