The Unknown Island

In a land far away, across an ocean as vast as the horizon, there lay a mysterious island known as Seraphim. This island was not an ordinary island. None knew of its existence, save for a handful of old sailors who had been fortunate (or unfortunate) to have encountered it.
Our story begins with Sebastian, a young sailor of humble birth from a small coastal village. Life hadn't always been kind to him. His father, a fisherman, had disappeared at sea when Sebastian was just a child. His mother passed soon thereafter, leaving him in the care of his unfriendly uncle.
One fateful day, Sebastian overhears his uncle speak of an unknown Island named Seraphim to a group of hardened sailors. His eyes twinkling with intrigue, Sebastian decided to embark on a perilous journey — a voyage to the Unknown Island.
Armed with nothing but his father's navigational maps and his own courageous spirit, he set sail into the great deep. Days turned into weeks, and weeks into months. Sebastian found himself in the midst of unpredicted storms, gigantic waves, and creatures unknown. But he soldiered on, for his heart yearned for the unknown, the adventure of the unexplored.
Finally, after nearly a year of relentless voyage, land was in sight. As the island appeared out of the fog, the sight took Sebastian's breath away. Waves crashed into the rocky cliffs, the lush greenery seemed untouched by time, and exotic birds flapped their wings high above.
On this island, he encountered everything from strange creatures to dangerous terrains. There were nights when he was close to giving up, desperately missing the comfort of his village. But each sunrise brought him new determination. His father’s teachings of patience, perseverance and love for the sea echoed in his mind, spurring him onwards.
Amidst the strange flora and fauna, Sebastian stumbled upon an ancient, forgotten civilization in the heart of the island. The inhabitants were strangely humanoid but not human, who greeted him as if they had been expecting him. They lived in harmony with the island, embracing the dangers as part of the beauty.
Somehow Sebastian earned their trust, learned their ancient scripts, and mastered in their bizarre practices. He became their oracle, succeeding their aged dying soothsayer. The island, previously perceived as dangerous, became a haven for him.
Years passed. The sailor who had once left his small coastal village with dreams of adventure and exploration, was now the oracle of a forgotten civilization in a hidden island. His old identity, erased by the passage of time, was replaced by a new one; He was no longer just Sebastian, but Sebastian of Seraphim.
One day, a group of mariners washed ashore, victims of a shipwreck disaster. They were the first humans Sebastian had seen in years. The civilization helped them rebuild their ships, in exchange for a promise - to never mention the island to anyone. Sebastian could leave with them, return back to his world. But he chose to stay, his young adventurer's heart replaced with that of an oracle's wisdom.
The story of Sebastian, or Sebastian of Seraphim, became part of the seafarers' chronicles, whispered amongst sailors, shared around campfires, often branded as a sailor's myth or a mariner's folklore. Yet for Sebastian, the adventure was a cherished reality, a life chosen and lived in the heart of the unknown.
