The Tri-Junction Legacy
Once upon a time, in the wide plains lies a juncture of three kingdoms- Varsaria, Berendelle, and Targoth. Each kingdom was ruled by a respected and brave king. King Halvard of Varsaria, King Beck of Berendelle, and King Athelstan of Targoth were all good friends during their younger years. Despite having their distinct territories, the kings maintained a harmonious relationship. But as decades passed, greed and dominance started to taint their heart of friendship. Each kingdom wanted to have complete control over the lucrative Trade Route in their junction, which brings abundance and prosperity.
Simultaneously, in Varsaria, Prince Edmund, son of King Halvard, was enchanted by Princess Alys, daughter of King Beck. He noticed her during a royal congregation and fell in love with her beauty, grace, and knowledge. He couldn't keep himself away from her, but he also knew the growing tension between their kingdoms.
King Halvard, recognizing his son's distress, sat down with him one day and asked about his worries. Edmund being genuine, confessed his feelings for the Princess of Berendelle. The King was startled initially, but he saw this as an opportunity to unite the kingdoms and acquire the Trade Route.
King Halvard sent a diplomatic envoy to Berendelle under the guise of discussing peaceful terms but proposed a union between Princess Alys and Prince Edmund. King Beck was not oblivious to his counterpart's motives. Still, he was charmed by the proposal as he held a secret desire for his daughter to marry a robust and humble Prince.
In the meantime, Prince Edmund mustered the courage and sent a letter to Princess Alys addressing his feelings. The Princess, who had also noticed Edmund's appeal, awaited such a sentiment. The letter fondled her heart, and she reciprocated his feelings. She was thrilled about this bond and accepted the proposal without second thoughts.
King Beck accepted the proposal made by King Halvard amidst the joy brought by his daughter. The engagement was announced to both kingdoms, and the preparations began. Princess Alys, moved to Varsaria, for the wedding preparations.
But this alliance completed erased the Kingdom of Targoth, leading to King Athelstan's dismay. He felt betrayed by his friends. The trade route also owned equally by Targoth, and with this alliance, his state would fall to despair. Amidst the brewing engagement and preparations, he decided to disrupt the wedding and found solace in sorcery.
Asthat, an old witch of the Mystical Forest, promised to help him under a deal. A deal to be lifted from her curse in exchange for her help.
As the wedding day approached, Princess Alys fell into a deep sleep from a spell by the witch. All efforts by Varsaria and Berendelle's healers bore no fruits. King Halvard called for help from all the lands.
In the twist of fate, an ambiguous herbalist from Targoth came forward. He had knowledge of the curse and its antidote. But the conditions were for all three kings to agree to share the trade route and vow never to wage war for it.
In desperation, both the kings agreed. The medicinal man had the antidote, and Princess Alys woke up from her endless slumber. She was confused but overjoyed to see Edmund. The wedding proceeded with grandeur and left a mighty alliance behind.
The kingdoms continued to flourish together, and three friends rekindled their bond which reflects in their kingdoms' prosperity. While the colours of greed, isolation, and misunderstanding tested them, the realization of unity's strength became their guiding light. The tale of these three kingdoms stands as an emblem for peaceful coexistence.
