The Tree of Destiny: Birth of Edmund the Radiant
Once upon a time, in the kingdom of Riane, there lived an infamous King named David. Known for his fairness and compassion, he had successfully brought his people to a golden age of peace and prosperity. While peace was consistent, there was one consistent worry in David's heart; the absence of a child. Not having an heir was not only worrisome for his lineage but also for the continuity of his kingdom. As the years passed, the uncertainty about Riane's future began to grow in the hearts of its citizens.
One day, a travelling monk named Seriah came to the city. A master of the arcane arts, he was revered for his wisdom and mystical abilities. King David, heard about his visitors' capabilities and invited him to the palace. The King shared his predicament with Seriah. Touched by the King's concern for his people, Seriah made a promise. He said that the next morning, a tree of emerald leaves, silver trunk and a golden fruit at its peak shall grow right in the center of the kingdom. From this single golden fruit, the King's heir will be born.
Indeed, the following dawn carried a spectacle of nature as the magical tree rose in all its resplendent glory in the town square. The sight of the tree and the imminent birth of the heir sparked a jubilant celebration among the people. As promised, a golden fruit emerged on the tip of the highest branch. King David carefully picked it and out came a beautiful boy with turquoise eyes and a charismatic aura. The King named him Prince Edmund.
Growing up, Edmund demonstrated unprecedented intelligence, courage and compassion. His maturity and intelligence greatly surpassed his age, making him a favourite of scholars and warriors alike. He was loved by his people and respected by his peers. As Prince Edmund grew older, his father's influence moulded him into a wise and benevolent leader.
Meanwhile, far away from the kingdom of Riane, an evil sorcerer named Belzar had his attention on the flourishing kingdom. The birth of Prince Edmund hadn't gone unnoticed. Belzar, filled with envy and hatred, decided to shatter the peace of Riane and plotted to extinguish the lineage of King David.
Belzar bewitched an army of shadows and stormed Riane. People were taken aback as they had seen nothing but peace for decades. The castle was breached, and King David was besieged. But mere moments before Belzar could strike the King, Prince Edmund stepped in. Despite his youth, his courage did not waver.
A furious battle ensued between the Prince and the shadows while King David combated with Belzar. Edmund, though still a boy, fought bravely, his faith and destiny fueling his determination. Hours into the battle, Edmund, with a roar of pure defiance, swung the royal sword towards the shadows. To his surprise, the edge shone gloriously, emanating a blinding light. Each shadow it met disintegrated instantly.
Meanwhile, the duel between Belzar and the King continued. Belzar disarmed the King and poised for a fatal blow. But before the strike could land, Edmund rushed forward, his sword raised, which now burned with the light of justice. Belzar could not resist the divine power and was banished forever. Riane and its king were saved.
From that moment on, Edmund earned the title 'Edmund the Radiant.' He led the kingdom with wisdom like his father. King David's fears about the future of the kingdom were long forgotten, and the people lived in newfound happiness, graced by Edmund's leadership. The story of Edmund the Radiant and his courageous confrontation against the shadows became a tale passed down through generations in the kingdom of Riane.
