The Time Keeper's Gift

Once upon a time, in a realm where time moved differently, lived a people meticulously attending to the intricate mechanics of time. They were the Time Keepers, a quaint and magical folk who always seemed to have time. One of the greatest among them was Thoren, unmatched in his comprehension and control over time.
Thoren had a son, Elian, a boy of compassionate heart but with no apparent gift of managing time. People often questioned whether Elian was truly Thoren's son. Thoren, however, loved Elian unconditionally and often said, 'In every ticking second, there's a heartbeat, and that is more important.' No one quite understood what Thoren meant, but his acclaim was such that they did not question him further. Elian grew up longing for his own gift.
Every year, there was a 'Festival of Time.' It was a grand occasion where the Time Keepers would exhibit their mastery over the temporal vortex. That year, the day before the festival, Elian turned sixteen, the age when the gift of time was believed to fully manifest itself. Yet, his gift was still to reveal itself. On his birthday eve, Thoren took Elian by the hand and led him to the heart of the realm, where lay the Grand Clock.
The Grand Clock was a marvel - an intricate structure made entirely of gleaming copper, shrouded in radiant lights. Thoren turned to Elian and said, 'To be a Time Keeper Elian, means much more than just managing time.'
Handing Elian a smooth crystal-like stone he continued, 'This is a Time Seed. By placing this in the core of the Grand Clock, you might discover your gift.' Overwhelmed, Elian took the seed. As the seed met the heart of the Grand Clock, the gears turned slowly and a transformation took place. Where once stood a simple boy, now was a person shimmering with a golden aura. Elian had discovered his gift - Empathy. His heart could feel the pulse of every ticking moment and share its joy or sorrow.
As the festival dawned, each Time Keeper squeezed or stretched time, demonstrating their skills in awe-inspiring displays. The crowd then turned to see Elian. As he stepped forward, everything fell into a breathless silence.
Elian closed his eyes, focused on the beat of time, its ebb and flow. Soon, his heartbeat synchronized with every ticking second, with every fleeting emotion. A wave of empathy radiated across the realm. The gathered crowd began to perceive time not as a continuum but more as heartfelt moments. The applause that followed was deafening.
After the festival, the people who had previously doubted Elian's potential approached him with admiration. Elian's gift was unique, and his humble demeanor only enhanced their respect for him. For Thoren, he couldn't have been prouder.
Time, as they learned, was more than a mere sequence of events. It was a succession of moments filled with emotions, each as valuable as the next. Elian, with the heart that ticked in time, was not merely a Time Keeper; he was a keeper of heartfelt moments. And that was his Time Keeper's gift.
