The Time Compass

Once upon a time, in a small town where everyone knew everyone, lived an old clockmaker named William. He was wise and skilled and had an enchanting characteristic, he loved creating magical timepieces, for him, every timepiece had a story to tell.
One fine day, a young boy named Timmy received a strange-looking compass from his grandmother. The oddity of the compass was that it had extra hands that pointed in bizarre directions. Baffled and intrigued, Timmy headed straight to the only person who could help in the town, the old clockmaker.
William, after examining the compass, realized this was not an ordinary compass but a time compass. He revealed to Timmy that this magical tool could guide him through time. The young boy, though sceptical, was excited at the prospect of a wondrous journey.
With trepidation but inescapable curiosity, Timmy let the compass lead the way and found himself in the era of the knights and castles.
The tale progressed as Timmy met a kind knight, Sir Theodore, who taught him the virtues of bravery and honour. He had to help the knight defeat a treacherous dragon terrorizing a village. After a thrilling battle, they were victorious. The victory was celebrated throughout the village, everyone praised the young boy for his courage. But, the compass started spinning wildly, marking the end of this adventure.
Surprisingly, it led Timmy to the age of the Renaissance this time. He met the legendary Da Vinci, witnessing and also contributing to the creation of some of the greatest masterpieces of all times. Timmy learned the value of patience, determination and the courage to innovate from the great painter and inventor. After days of mingling with art, there came the time when the compass beckoned towards another era.
Next, he travelled to the 1960s, in the heart of a Civil Rights March, marching alongside Martin Luther King Jr. He learned the significance of equality, justice, and saw the impact of words. For a young lad, these lessons were priceless. Once the rally ended, the compass decided it was now time to return.
Within a blink, Timmy was back in his room, the compass resting calmly on his desk. 'Was it just a dream?' he questioned. But he could still hear the echo of the rally, the dragon's roar and feel the paint on his hand.
He visited William and narrated his little adventures. William knew that the compass's work was over; it showed Timmy the three most essential virtues of life: courage, innovation and justice.
The return of Timmy marked the end of his unusual journey but the beginning of a life that was set on a path illuminated with the lessons from the past, earned in the rarest of experiences.
Years later, Timmy too became a clockmaker, but his specialisation was not just timepieces but weaving stories from their ticks and tocks, just like William. Because he knew, every timepiece indeed had a story to tell. He looked at the compass, a silent smile adorned his face. His guide, his teacher, his ticket to the extraordinary tales. His tale was one of timing, his adventure in time.
