The Tale of Wandering Lights

In a time before the advent of humans, when ancient creatures freely roamed the land, there was an enchanting forest named Lystwood. It was known for its mystical creatures, secretive shadows, sparkling streams, and of course, the Wandering Lights.
These Wandering Lights were bewitching, illuminating orbs that gave the forest a surreal glow at any given time of day or night, scribing stories of magic in the dark canvas of the forest. However, one day, the Wandering Lights started disappearing, stripping the forest of its magic and beauty. The denizens of Lystwood, fearing that the forest might die without the lights, decided it was time to take urgent action.
Assembled by the majestic Star Horn Deer, the leader of the forest, a team was formed comprising a cunning fox named Faelen, a wise crane called Craenor, and an energetic squirrel known as Scura.
Faelen, with his sharp intuition, led the team through the forest labyrinth, maneuvering around perilous paths while they searched for clues. Craenor, with his extensive knowledge, interpreted signs, decoded forest whispers, and cracked enigmatic riddles, guiding them in the right direction.
The team’s challenge lay in the Lost Caverns, hidden beyond the Last Tree Line. It was believed that a greedy human wizard, fleeing from a battle, had hidden there and stolen the lights to study their magic.
As they advanced towards the cavern, they found it protected by an enchantment that could only be undone by answering a riddle posed by the guardian spirit of the cavern.
'What is like the stars yet not in the sky, can reflect the sun but is not gold, has a heart of its own rhythm but is not alive?' The spirit intoned. While Faelen and Scura puzzled over the riddle, Craenor’s eyes shone immediately.
'It's the Wandering Lights!' he exclaimed. The spirit, satisfied with their answer, undid the enchantment, and they proceeded into the cavern. Inside, they found the stolen lights contained within a crystal orb, pulsating with an eerie glow.
Faelen stealthily maneuvered through the disorganized clutter of scrolls and potions to swipe the orb while Scura distracted the slumbering wizard by dropping acorns onto the cavern floor. Carefully grasping the captured lights, the trio departed from the cavern, miraculously without alerting the wizard.
Returning to the heart of Lystwood, they released the Wandering Lights. The forest came alive instantaneously as it bathed in the soft glow of the orbs, filling Lystwood with life and magic once again. The animals celebrated by dancing under the revived light, while Faelen, Craenor, and Scura were hailed as the saviors of Lystwood. From then on, the forest stood nourished, magical, and more beautiful than ever - a testament to the brave guardians of the Wandering Lights.
