The Tale of the Light Chaser
Once upon a time, in the celestial city of Argentum, lived a young magician named Corvus who was renowned for his extraordinary power to shape celestial light into mesmerising illusions. However, Corvus was not content; he had an insatiable curiousity of mastering the Lost Art of Lux Aeterna, an ancient mythical magic guarded by the stars themselves. Unlike his light illusions, the Lux Aeterna could materialize physical beings out of pure light, making it the most powerful and coveted ability in the universe.
Despite countless warnings by his mentor, the wise mage Altair, Corvus embarked on a daring journey, chasing the secretive trail of the Lux Aeterna. He commenced his quest in the Forbidden Archives of Orion, where hidden amidst a plethora of ancient scriptures, Corvus discovered the first clue, an encrypted stellar map leading to the ancient monoliths of Sirius.
His heart filled with thrill and nervous anticipation, Corvus navigated the galaxy, encountering perilous meteoroid showers, dangerous black holes, and other celestial threats along his way. He eventually reached Sirius, where he solved intricate puzzles and riddles spread across the monolithic structures. With each solved puzzle, the monoliths channeled celestial energy towards a central obelisk revealing the crumbling manuscript of Lux Aeterna.
As soon as Corvus approached to grasp the manuscript, a blinding light engulfed him, and the ethereal Guardian of the Stars materialized. The Guardian stated that only those pure of heart and motive could rightfully inherit the Lux Aeterna. Corvus, filled with guilt and remorse as he realized the selfish reasons behind his desire to master Lux Aeterna, surrendered, acknowledging his unworthiness.
Contrarily, the Guardian smiled and revealed that Corvus passed the test, as only those who genuinely acknowledged their shortcomings could master Lux Aeterna. Overwhelmed and elated, Corvus received the energy bestowed upon by the Guardian and felt an inexplicable surge of boundless magic flowing through him. Just as he was about to return to Argentum, the Sirius monoliths began to crumble.
The celestial energy gathered at Sirius was rapidly destabilizing, threatening to cause a supernova that could wipe out countless solar systems. With the newly acquired Lux Aeterna, Corvus created a barrier of pure light around Sirius, absorbing the majority of the shockwave, thus saving trillions of lives across galaxies. However, the blast drained the entirety of his powers, and in the heart of Sirius, Corvus vanished into the light he cherished so much.
Back in Argentum, a hazy figure formed out of scattered light emerged, and to Altair's surprise, it was Corvus, who had merged with Lux Aeterna, achieving an immortal form of celestial light. Corvus’s tale became a galactic legend, echoed across millennia and galaxies. It was a story of passion, ambition, humility, and sacrifice, ultimately leading to redemption that defined the meaning of true power.
