The Tale of The Last Guardian
Once upon a time in the land of Elderon, there was a colossal mountain, known as the Peak of Eternity. Many legends were intertwined with this mountain, the most revered among them was about the solitary Guardian who dwelt at the peak. His name was Argo, and he was tasked with protecting an ancient artifact, the 'Eternal Ember'.
In all his boundless wisdom, King Nerion, the ruler of Elderon, was troubled. His kingdom was crumbling due to the decayed artifact that controlled Elderon's foundation. In urgency and desperation, King Nerion sent a call across his realm, seeking brave souls to retrieve the Eternal Ember from the Peak of Eternity to save the kingdom. With the promise of immense wealth and eternal glory, men and women, knights and sorcerers, adventurers of all sorts arose for the task.
Among these adventurers, a young squire called Elian stood out. Unlike others motivated by greed and glory, Elian, a mere peasant, sought only to save his hometown and its people. A humble and brave soul, Elian, with his ragged clothes and a rusty sword, embarked on his journey to the Peak of Eternity.
As Elian began his ascent, he found himself faced with numerous trials. Monstrous beasts, treacherous terrains, and intense weather, yet his determination remained unscathed. Days turned into weeks, weeks into months. After many moons, Elian reached the summit, but he was met with a foreboding sight - the Guardian, Argo.
Tall and intimidating, Argo resonated with immense power. His intense gaze bore into Elian, as if evaluating his soul. He broke the silence and voiced, 'Why do you seek the Eternal Ember?'. Elian, though exhausted and aching, answered with sincerity about his simple, altruistic intention. Argo looked at him intently. Impressed by the young lad's honesty and bravery, Argo granted him the Eternal Ember.
Having accomplished the impossible, Elian journeyed back, holding the flickering Eternal Ember. But the kingdom was not as it had been. Greed had torn people apart. Men killed each other for the glory that Elian was to receive. Seeing the chaos unravel before his eyes, Elian made a daunting decision. He refused to give the Ember to King Nerion.
Amidst the mist of confusion, Elian addressed the court, 'This Ember is not the solution to our problems. It is us. Our unity, our love for each other and our land. That's what makes a kingdom flourish.' Challenged, yet moved by his words, King Nerion agreed to change his ways. The Ember returned to the Peak of Eternity, the blood-spilled grounds were replaced by harmonious laughter, and King Nerion, guided by Elian, ruled with wisdom and benevolence henceforth.
In the heart of Elderon, tales of Elian's bravery, Argo's wisdom, and the new dawn of the kingdom were recited at every hearth. The tale of the Last Guardian was remembered, not as a story of enchanted artifacts but as a beacon of hope and unity.
