The Tale of the Last Dragon
Once, in a time forgotten by many, hidden in the deepest core of the enchanted Vorigoth Forest, lie the mystical Kingdom of Ethiria. A realm known for its harmony between the creatures of air, land, water, and the humans who shared the land. Overseeing this tranquil dominion was King Ildunn, the valiant and just ruler who had a profound secret - a royal bond with the last dragon, Raxtus.
Raxtus was a majestic creature, whose emerald scales shimmered under the sunlight, and his eyes held the ancient wisdom befitting his age as the last dragon. Tieing Raxtus with the kingdom, a bond was formed when King ildunn saved Raxtus as a hatchling from the merciless Dragon Slayers, who were determined to wipe out dragons. Since then, Raxtus vowed to protect Ethiria and its people, becoming Ethiria's loyal guardian.
In return, King Ildunn made sure that Raxtus' existence was kept hidden from the outside world, as he knew the havoc that would befall them if the Dragon Slayers discovered a dragon was still alive.
Years passed in tranquility, the secret of the dragon was passed on from generation to generation. However, destiny had other plans which came in the unwanted form of a wolf pack. Unbeknownst to them, they were being hunted by a ruthless Dragon Slayer named Vargor, who tracked them to Ethiria.
Vargor, desperate for power and fame, had heard rumors of a dragon in Ethiria. Hungry for the power a dragon’s heart could bestow, he tricked the innocent into betraying their king. One such soul was Kael, a young and impressionable farmer swayed by Vargor's charm and promises of wealth.
Kael led Vargor to the hidden sanctuary where Raxtus resided. Overcome by greed and blind ambition, Vargor attacked, injuring Raxtus severely. Hearing the dragon’s agony, people of Ethiria and King Ildunn rushed to their guardian's side.
Enraged at the betrayal and violence, King Ildunn vowed to protect Raxtus at any cost. He confronted Vargor, their battle echoing throughout the kingdom. After an arduous fight, King Ildunn, using his quick wits and mighty strength, trapped Vargor inside an ethereal cage created by the kingdom's sorcerers. However, the cost was high. Vargor had delivered a fatal blow in their combat, King Ildunn was dying. He passed his crown to his young son, imploring him to guard the secret of Raxtus.
Meanwhile, as months passed, Raxtus regained his strength. Grateful, he vowed to serve Ethiria and its new King, who carried his father's legacy with grace and strength. Young King Eldryn, with Raxtus by his side, led his people into a new era, reinforcing the protective magic around Ethiria to ensure their safety.
The tale goes, they say Raxtus still guards Ethiria, unseen to the strangers, but to the virtuous inhabitants, they keep their legacy alive. As for Kael, he realized his grave mistake, dedicating his life to serving Ethiria and promoting peace across the kingdom.
This tale of courage, wisdom, and loyalty speaks volumes about the lengths one can go to protect those they care for. A story of unity between the human kingdom of Ethiria and their dragon, Raxtus, united by the bond of trust and love.
