The Symposium of Forgotten Dreams
In the distant galaxy of Cygnus-X, nestled between the warm embrace of its suns, existed a unique planet named Dreamlost. Dreamlost was inhabited by the Cognizants, a species that possessed the innate ability to shape and form dreams. These dreams, however, weren't their own: they were dreams forgotten by other beings across the universe.
One day, a young apprentice named Elo arrived in the grand city of Aurora to pursue his training under Morpheus, the esteemed Dream Scribe. Elo was eager yet nervous as the scribe's home, shadowed by the towering luxowalks, had an imposing aura. Morpheus was not just famed for his exceptional prowess in dreamweaving but also for his strict and challenging methods of instruction.
Elo's first assignment was to weave the dream of an alien being far away on the distant planet of Earth. The dream consisted of flying across the multicolor canvas of a setting sun, chasing rippling waves, and feeling the coarse sand. It was a forgotten dream of freedom, of desire, and the alien's fervent wish to explore the world.
Elo was consumed with apprehension as he attempted to carve the beautiful elements of the dream on the scrolls of celestite, an exclusive reserve of the master scribes. His hesitant etchings filled the aurora-lit hall with half-created visions of pinkish sunsets, waves that weren't quite right, and sand that looked more like stardust. The demanding task did nothing to soothe the storm brewing inside him.
As the nova-clocks tolled midnight, Morpheus, silent all this while, advised Elo, 'True creation comes from the heart, Elo; concentrate on feeling the dream rather than merely reproducing it.'
Harbouring his master's advice at heart, Elo dedicated himself to understanding the essence of the dream. He began deeply imbibing the forgotten emotions and desires of the earthly being into his essence, empathising rather than just analysing. His efforts eventually bore fruit, and the half-created dreams became vivid. The celestial hall was now adorned with dreams of vast turquoise oceans beneath an intense amber sky, the gentle scent of the sea filling the air, and the unique texture of the sand as the waves washed over it.
Days turned into weeks and weeks into months. Morpheus, who had watched Elo's transformation from an apprehensive novice to a confident creator, was content. Elo's growth wasn't just seen in his works but also felt in his aura, more serene and enriched with every passing day.
However, the completion of his training demanded a singular test – a Symposium of Dreams. Elo was to present his finest dreamweave before the illustrious Council of Cognizants. The thought of this formidable task brought a swathe of anxiety flooding back over Elo.
On the day of the symposium, Elo found himself standing before the illustrious council, focusing his mind on a dream he spent countless hours cultivating and refining. Remembering Morpheus's words, he let his heart take control. As he started sculpting the dream, the council found themselves amid a spectacular dream panorama. The stirring visual of a Phoenix soaring through a blazing sunset underscored the forgotten dream of a fierce freedom, presenting the council members with emotions they'd rarely experienced. The collective sensation of awe across the audience when the Phoenix submerged into the ocean, symbolising rebirth and resilience, was palpable.
After the symposium, Elo stood amid cheering crowds, applause, and praises showering him from all sides. He felt an overwhelming surge of pride, but his immense gratitude towards Morpheus transcended it all. He realized that the dreams he wove were a testament to his growth as an individual, a dream sculptor, and above all, a Cognizant.
Elo's journey of becoming a Dream Scribe was not just about mastering the art of weaving dreams; it was about understanding their depth, their emotions, and the universality of desires, fears, and aspirations, binding the entire universe together despite the differences.
You see, the dreams might have been forgotten, but through Elo's work, their spirit lived, echoed across galaxies, touching and influencing the lives that lay far beyond their origin.
