The Songbird's Statue

Once upon a time, in a city marvelled by impressive skyscrapers, lived a homeless man named Tom who was known by everyone in the city as 'The Songbird'. Despite his dingy clothes and visible hardships, his voice was like a melody, smooth and powerful that would fill the air with magic, leaving everyone mesmerized.
One gloomy morning, Tom was found lifeless in his makeshift abode, an old rusty park-bench. The news spread like wildfire, leading to a city in mourning. As the sun set, a benevolent billionaire named Richard, who was intrigued by Tom’s story, decided to honour his talent posthumously. He made his first move and persuaded the city council to commission a statue in honor of 'The Songbird'. A famed sculptor, Emily, was appointed for the job.
Emily, a young yet highly accomplished artist, found herself in a peculiar predicament. Tom’s appearance was far from heroic, yet he had resonated deeply with the city's populace.
She spent days struggling with the idea until she decided to focus on what made him a symbol of inspiration. She decided to portray Tom singing, with his eyes closed and an ethereal smile on his face, creating a statue that was not just of a man but rather of a feeling - the Songbird. Emily's hands brought to life an image of Tom that reflected exceptional charisma in the evocation of his talent.
Once completed, the statue was unveiled at a grand ceremony attended by thousands of city dwellers. The mere sight of the statue brought tears to many eyes. It filled the air with an invisible melody that Tom once created, reminding everyone of the magic of his voice.
Months became years, and the statue stood there radiating a certain warmth. People visited it every day, left flowers, sang songs, some even cried, it was like they found a connection, a piece of themselves in the statue.
It was on one such day, that a young boy of about five, Jacob, found himself standing in front of the statue with his mother. Jacob, enchanted by the statue asked his mother about the man. The mother, a school teacher by profession, narrated to him the saga of the Songbird.
In the days that followed, Jacob was imbued with inspiration. Every day after school, he would come to the statue, sit by its side and sing. With each day, his voice became stronger, cleaner, and more melodious, so much so, that people started gathering around him to listen.
Years rushed by and the statue which had already seen a city in mourning and then in celebration, now witnessed a miracle. Jacob, the little boy who sang by its side, grew up to become a renowned singer, winning hearts not just of the city but the entire world with his soulful voice.
He credited his accomplishments to the Songbird's statue which had been his mentor, his muse. The statue, although just stone and bronze, had achieved what people often strive to - it became a beacon of hope and inspiration.
This tale ends here, but the between the cold, towering skyscrapers, on an old park-bench, still resides an unaged statue of the Songbird, showering inspiration to every wandering soul.
