The Song of the Sea's Daughter
Many years ago, in a humble fishing village named Bosan, a child was born unique from any other - Delira, the Sea's daughter. Bosan, cradled by the roaring waves of the sea and the impenetrable mountain ranges, was a place of myths and legacies. Our adventure begins on this stage.
Delira was born amidst a catastrophic storm, and the tempestuous sea lulled soundly as soon as she first cried out. Hence, the villagers deemed her the child of Oceanus, the Sea God, descended to mankind to bring tranquility. From then on, Delira was both admired and feared, a divine outsider amidst simple folk.
Growing up, Delira forged a special connection with the sea. She would often gaze at its grandeur for hours, and the sea would serenade her with its rhythmic waves, as if recounting tales of underwater kingdoms and mighty sea beasts. The means to see and speak the language of the vast ocean was not something ordinary villagers could fathom or even dare imagine.
However, not everyone was captivated by Delira's enigma. The village elder, Tebros, was filled with trepidation concerning Delira's ethereal bond with the sea. The vengeful Sea God, he believed, could claim back his daughter anytime, causing a disaster for Bosan. So, he decided Delira must depart the village forever.
It was a moonlit night when Tebros confronted Delira with the order. Her emerald eyes shimmered with the reflection of the celestial bodies overhead as she listened in stunned silence.
'I am part of Bosan, little more than any sand grain,' she contested, words echoing with heartache. 'I am your daughter!'
However, Tebros was unrelenting. His fear blinded him from the love and pain reflected in Delira's eyes, seeing only a ticking sea-bound bomb in her stead. Reluctantly, Delira accepted the decree, resolved not to bring harm to her beloved village. As she walked towards the shore, with her lifelong belongings on her back, the sea roared in fury. It seemed to understand her pain, and each wave that kissed the shore voiced its protest louder than the last.
But Tebros and villagers were stricken with terror. They believed Oceanus had come to reclaim his daughter and prepared for the worst. Funny, isn't it? How fear inhibits our senses and blurs aspects that might be crystal clear otherwise.
Meanwhile, Delira, standing on the edge of the shore, sang a song. A soft melody that danced beautifully in the gusty wind. Her voice echoed, reaching the farthest depths of roaring sea, calming it bit by bit. The lyrics held her heartfelt plea - for forgiveness, for the ocean to spare her village, for solitude.
As the last syllable left her lips, a colossal wave arose from the sea, rushing towards the shore with the power of an entire ocean behind it. The villagers cried out in terror, thinking the end was near. However, instead of consuming the village, the wave halted before Delira, as if respectfully bowing to its princess. With a final glance at the villagers, her so-called family, Delira walked into the wave, disappearing into the welcoming embrace of the sea.
The wave retracted without leaving a hint of the anticipated destruction, delicately resting Delira's empty tunic on the beach. A stunned silence persisted, only to be shattered by the sorrowful wailing of Bosan's villagers. From that night on, on ominous occasions, the villagers would witness a hushed lullaby riding on the sea breeze. They swore it was Delira, the Sea's Daughter, reassuring her people their safety by singing an ocean's lullaby.
Thus, Delira's legend echoes through Bosan's generations, a tale of connection, fear, sacrifice, and a love profound enough to control the moods of the sea.
