The Song of the Sapphire Lark

In a world where everything was created not by gods, but by harmony and song, there lived an enchanted bird named Soley, the Sapphire Lark. This world, named Eurythmia, was very much different from ours. It was a realm full of exceptional beauty, where every plant, every creature, every breath of the wind was a melody that contributed to the enchanting orchestra of life.
On the tallest branch of the tallest silver elm tree in Eurythmia resided Soley. She was unlike any other lark, not only because her feathers shimmered with a brilliant sapphire hue under the Eurythmian sun but also because she had the power to sing life into existence. However, Soley's songs were not as pleasant as the other creatures'. When she attempted to harmonise her melody into the orchestra of life, her notes always fell flat, causing discord. Consequently, she was ostracised, relegated to singing alone in the silent moonlight.
One night, engrossed in her lonesome melody, Soley noticed a faint glimmer in the distance—a falling star. Without a second thought, she soared towards the falling celestial body. As she neared the crash site, she found a small, ashen girl laying unconscious, clothed in a starry robe. It was Selene, the literal fallen star, banished from her celestial home, her glow diminishing.
Soley, empathising with Selene, decided to assist her. She felt a connection with the fallen star, both feeling out of tune with the world around them. She invited Selene to live with her upon the tall silver elm, and shared the warmth of her nest. The two outcasts found solace in each other’s company and shared their tales of joy and sorrow, their struggles, and their dreams.
Selene shared with Soley how she used to glow brilliantly in the night sky, but her light dimmed as she lost hope and happiness, ultimately leading to her banishment from the celestial sphere. In desperate times, Selene wanted her light back and wanted to be part of her celestial family once again. Touched by her story, Soley sang a song, a gentle melody of longing and hope, a song of returning home.
To their wonder, they observed a small glow emerging from Selene. The Sapphire Lark had unknowingly stumbled upon her true power. It was her ability to evoke emotions with her voice, which had tremendous healing capabilities. Empowered by this discovery, Soley spent weeks, months, and seasons trying to understand and control her newfound ability. There were failures, defeats, but every fall only made her resolve stronger. Her heart sang with dedication, and Eurythmia started to resonate with Soley's unique rhythm.
Gradually, Selene’s glimmer became a radiant glow, enough to brighten their little nest. Her dimpled smile and liveliness were returning. Encouraged by the sight of her friend recovering, Soley sang tirelessly until a day came when Selene was ablaze with celestial light, and as her glow reached its peak, she ascended into the sky, returning to her rightful place among the stars, lighting up the night sky, outshining all.
Soley's final note fell silent as she watched Selene resume her place in the sky. She had accomplished her mission, she had helped a friend find her way home, and in the process, she found harmony within herself. The Sapphire Lark had not only discovered her power but also experienced the bliss of giving and caring, ultimately finding her unique tune in the vast orchestra of Eurythmia. She sang her songs brightly, and to her surprise, for the first time, the world sang back in perfect harmony.
To this day, Soley's melodies echo through every nook and corner of Eurythmia, a reminder of the Sapphire Lark's legacy. And every night, the world would look up and see Selene glowing bright than ever, a beacon of hope for every lost soul seeking their way home. Two outcasts, through their shared sorrow and success, had managed to create an unforgettable symphony that forever reverberated across the length and breadth of their world.
