The Song of the Lost Stars
Long ago, in a small village nestled between forested hills and a sparkling river, lived a humble blacksmith named Thomas. Thomas was known by everyone in the village for his strong arms that shaped iron into beautiful handy creations, his hearty laugh that could be heard from miles away, and his amazing storytelling ability that brought every story to life.
One cool evening, after a gruelling day at the forge, Thomas went to the village tavern to share stories and laughter with his friends. As they kept warm by the fire, Thomas began to speak of an ancient legend, the mysterious tale of the 'Lost Stars'. As always with Thomas’s stories, the tavern grew silent, and everyone turned their attention to the blacksmith.
Said Thomas: 'Centuries ago, when the earth was young, the sky was adorned with numerous stars, as numerous as the grains of sand on our shores. They shone brightly every night, always watching over our world. Yet there were five stars, brighter and larger than all others, known as the Elder Stars. These stars were not just celestial bodies; they were conscious beings, each possessing powers and wisdom beyond comprehension.
In their love for the world below, the Elder Stars decided to descend upon the earth and use their powers to make it a paradise. However, as they descended, their brilliant lights vanished, and they became ordinary humans, no longer capable of illuminating the night.
Without the Elder Stars, the night sky became much dark, and the world fell prey to darkness and chaos. Thus, the Elder Stars decided to set out on a quest to regain their celestial form, unaware that this journey would be riddled with perilous adventures and discoveries beyond imagination.
Given the human condition, the five stars now lacked their celestial powers and had to rely on their human virtues; wisdom, courage, compassion, integrity, and hope, taking on new names to represent their virtues. The wielder of Wisdom was The Sage, bearer of Courage was The Brave, for Compassion The Kind, for Integrity The Honest, and hope was contained by The Optimist.
Their journey took them through desolate deserts, dangerous jungles, and haunting forests. They faced terrifying beasts, deceptive enchantments, and despairing trials. But through each challenge, they utilized their virtues, growing stronger both individually and as a group.
In the end, their journey led them to the summit of The Skyscraper Mountain, the highest peak in the world. There, they encountered the Guardian of Light, a celestial spirit safeguarding the fallen starlight. Only by proving their virtues could they reclaim their celestial forms.
In turn, each star demonstrated their virtue. The Sage solved a riddle that had baffled many, The Brave fought an invincible shadow, The Kind healed a wounded spirit, The Honest told a painful truth, and The Optimist, even after his comrades failed and hope seemed lost, persisted. Seeing their unwavering commitment, the Guardian restored their starlight, and they resumed their positions in the sky, shining brighter than ever before. With the Elder Stars return, the world reeled back from chaos into peace, forever cherishing the stars' grand sacrifice and tremendous victory.'
As Thomas finished his tale, the tavern was silent for a moment before erupting into applause. The story of the Lost Stars now lived in the hearts of every villager, adding a little more magic to the mystery of the night sky. Time would pass, but every time someone looked up at the night sky, they would remember the humble blacksmith's story of the Lost Stars and their incredible journey.
