The Song of Selene
Once, in a quiet seaside village named Sisikou, there lived a young girl named Selene. Her honey-colored hair often caught the sunlight, glowing against her olive skin, and her emerald eyes held the secrets of the sea. She was known for her kind heart and enchanting voice, which breathed life into every heart who listened, earning her an invitation to sing at the annual village festival.
On the proclaimed day, people from other villages journeyed from there corners eager to hear the enchanting voice of Selene. The laughter and merry voices filled the air, along with the delightful scent of freshly baked bread and spiced meats. Jugglers and jesters entertained while the villagers socialized, eagerly waiting for the sun to set.
As the first sliver of moon winked in the sky, a hush fell over the crowd. Selene walked to the stage, her humble dress glimmering magically under the night sky. The villagers held their breaths as Selene's melodious voice filled the starry night. Her song was of the sea, of the wild waves and the secrets they whispered to the moon. Her song was of the stars, of their eternal dance and the stories they etched in the shadows.
In the entranced crowd, hidden in the shadows, a pair of eyes shone brighter than the surrounding torches. These were the eyes of Orpheus, a sorcerer travelling through continents in search of something unknown to him. He was drawn to the village by Seleneās enchanting voice. As her voice washed over him, his heart resonated, and he finally knew what he had been searching for.
Overwhelmed with joy, Orpheus approached Selene once she had finished. He poured his heart into words, expressing how her song finally helped him understand his long search, and offered to take her journeying with him around the world, promising her tales of excitement and ventures and mysteries. The villagers gasped as Selene considered the offer, her mind buzzing with thoughts of a life beyond Sisikou.
After what seemed like an eternity to the villagers who had held their breaths in anticipation, Selene gave Orpheus a warm smile, thanking him for his offer but refusing kindly. She explained how the sea had been her childhood friend, the moon her nightly lullaby, and the stars her guiding compass. She confessed that her voice was the gift of the village, and couldnāt be taken somewhere else, as it was a part of Sisikou as much as she was.
Orpheus was moved by her words and, respecting her wishes, left the village, taking with him a parting gift from Selene: a song just for him, to give him strength in his continued searches. The villagers were astounded by Seleneās decision but were overwhelmed with gratitude for her devotion to their land.
Years passed, and Sisikou bloomed under Seleneās songs. The tale of the young lady and the wandering sorcerer filled folklore, and every time she sang, the villagers could feel Orpheus's spirit in the salty breeze, carried from far-off lands, listening attentively to the remarkable voice of Selene until the end of his days.
Selene's love for the village, her mesmerizing voice, and the hauntingly beautiful story of the young singer and the sorcerer became a timeless tale, echoing throughout the lands and the seas, forever etched in the stars.
And so it was that Selene and her sweet serenades, along with the tale of her profound loyalty and the undying admiration of a wanderer, became the Song of Selene across the continents.
