The Song of Liana
Once upon a time, in the ancient, mystical kingdom of Nath’alia, there lived a humble maiden named Liana. She was no ordinary girl. Liana had been gifted with an extraordinary talent of communicating with the creatures of the forest using her tantalizing voice. Birds and trees, wind and water, everything seemed to dance in harmony with her melodic chantings. But Liana had a secret. The enchanting melodies she hummed were not mere songs, but spells of old, passed down to her from her grandmother who was once the kingdom’s revered enchantress.
One day, Nath’alia was invaded by the dark forces of the neighboring kingdom of Graaf, who sought to claim the enchanting powers of the land for their evil motives. The townsfolk were forced into hiding, and all that once echoed with life turned lifeless overnight.
Liana and her father hid deep in the heart of the forest, far away from their once peaceful home. The father, seeing his kingdom fall, was desperate to save it but felt powerless. Seeing her father's despair, Liana interlaced her fingers in his, looked into his eyes and said, "I will bring our home back, father."
Her father gently ran his fingers through her hair, and with a heavy heart, he whispered "What can a little girl like you do, sweetheart?" Ignoring the sarcasm in her father's voice, she simply smiled, gave a peck on his cheek, and walked away.
When night fell, creatures of the forest gathered around Liana, drawn by her enchantress voice. Even though her heart ached for her lost home, she sang a song of courage, illuminating their hearts against the darkness that had enveloped their land. As her voice filled the air, Liana observed that small sparkling lights followed her voice, like her voice was carrying them into the sky. She remembers an old tale that her grandmother told her about the celestial entities responding to enchantress spells. That moment, a spark lit inside her.
Over the passing days, as the war raged on, Liana dived deep into her grandmother's old scriven books. Learning and reciting spells, she prepared for the fight she was to take on.
On a moonlit night, she ventured into the darkness, stepping out of her hiding. As she entered the ravaged King's court, she saw the evil Graaf King, basking in his victory. With anger in her heart and a burning resolve, Liana started to sing. This time, it wasn’t a song of courage or hope, but a battle cry, an exorcism, a force that echoed the might of Nath’alia.
As Liana sang, her melodious voice filled the air and started resonating with all forms of nature. Trees began to sway, animals grew restless, the winds picked up, and the heart of Nath’alia started beating again. The Graaf King, bewildered, was caught off guard. As Liana’s song reached its crescendo, her enchanting voice summoned a spell of light that swirled around the Graaf King and his forces, casting them out of the kingdom. The song of Nath’alia had spoken, and it would be heard.
The dawn broke out, casting away the shadows of the dark night. The residents of Nath’alia came out of their hiding and gazed in awe at the sight of their revived kingdom. They saw Liana, standing in the royal courtyard, her face radiating with the same light she had used to reclaim their home.
From that day forth, the humble maiden Liana was no longer seen as an ordinary girl but revered as the savior of Nath’alia. Her songs echoed in every part of the kingdom, carrying tales of her bravery and the magic of eternal harmony she restored. Nath’alia was home again, singing the song of Liana.
And thus goes the tale, the tale of a maiden’s song, a song that faced the darkness and kissed the light.
