The Song of Kings

Once upon a time, in a kingdom by the sea, there was a tradition deeply embedded in the customs of the people. With each birth of a new prince, a grand competition of music was held to choose the kingdom's 'Musical Magus,' a lifetime position whose holder would tutor the prince in the language of music, and create the royal song for each prince to metaphorically dance through their reign.
On the day Prince Elliot was born, musicians from far and wide came to participate. However, two stood out amongst all others: Indigo, a youthful harpist with magic in his fingers, and Songbird, an old blind maestro known for his celestial voice.
Indigo, famed for his ability to make hearts dance with his melodies, was the townspeople's favorite. Wherever he played, the world seemed to come alive; trees swayed along with his rhythm, flowers bloomed in tune, and even time seemed to flow with his harp.
Songbird, on the other hand, was renowned for his mesmerizing voice that could build unseen bridges to the heavens. Despite his blindness, his perception of life was exceptional, reflected through his transcendental lyrics that perfectly encapsulated the kingdom’s intricate stories.
The competition began, and Indigo performed first. As his fingers flowed over the strings, the atmosphere flickered with enchantment. The audience was swept up onto their feet unknowing, following the rhythm and tempo he led, his passion melting into the hearts of the audience.
Next, Songbird gently cleared his throat and began singing. His divine voice folded around every listener, wrapping them in a comforting embrace. His melody painted shades of love, sorrow, joy, and fear; weaving the kingdom’s rich tales into an unforgettable tapestry. Every line was an echo of their joys and sorrows, their victories, and losses.
When the performances ended, the entire kingdom was split in deciding who should win. Half the kingdom favored Indigo’s lively harp, which brought vivacity to their life. The other half favored Songbird’s soul-stirring voice that touched their hearts deep.
A week passed, and the day to announce the Kingdom's Musical Magus arrived. The King took the center stage and said, 'Music, as the purest form of expression, touches the deepest part of our being. While heartbeat and melody were splendidly prose by Indigo, it was the soul and lyricism penned by Songbird that truly swept us into the world of retrospection.'
Thus, Songbird was dubbed the 'Musical Magus' and duly started tutoring the young Prince Elliot. Despite the result, Indigo became the people's heart, continuing to enchant them with his ever-mystical tunes.
The music that echoed through the kingdom henceforth was a harmonious blend of old and new, a tribute to the legacy of the kingdom and the tune of a promising future. The Royal Song designed by Songbird and played by Indigo for Prince Elliot's reign wasn't just a piece of music; it carried the echo of every heart that beat within the Kingdom.
So lives on the Song of Kings, where every note is a life, every melody an era, and every song a story, the history and the future of the Kingdom entwined in symphony,
