The Silent Plains of Eternity
In a world where man and beast lived in harmony, there was a kingdom known as Dehlmein. Nestled among lush greenery, gripping mountains, and sparkling streams, Dehlmein was a paradise. Ruled over by the wise and just King Eldrige, it was a place of peace and prosperity.
As is customary in such stories, the peace didn't last for long. A prophecy foretold by the kingdom's oracle, Myrlin, painted a tale of the kingdom besieged by a dark and mighty army led by an unseen force. Fearing impending disaster, Eldrige called upon his bravest and most trusted knight, Sir Cadmus, to seize control of the situation.
Cadmus, a warrior of great repute, was known for his bravery, intellect, and unbending will. Fearing neither beast nor god, Cadmus prepared to confront the inevitable force of doom. With Myrlin's guidance, he set forth to the Silent Plains of Eternity, the purgatory between life and death, to seek the Hourglass of Shadows. It was said that this ancient artefact could bestow power upon its holder to control time itself.
Bearing the responsibility of the kingdom on his shoulders, Cadmus ventured into the Silent Plains. This uncharted land was desolate and eerie - a kingdom of shadows with no sign of life, not even the rustling of the wind. Hours morphed into days, and days into weeks, testing Cadmus's resilience and determination.
One night, under the shadowy expanse of the starless sky, he found the Hourglass buried beneath the pure black sand. Its beauty was entrancing, and its power palpable. But as soon as he lifted the Hourglass, Cadmus was surrounded by the darkness. It was the dark army, the nightmarish force as foretold by Myrlin’s prophecy.
Confronting the army, Cadmus put up a valiant fight. But even his unparalleled bravery and skill were no match for the myriad of shadow warriors. In the face of despair, Cadmus remembered Myrlin's cryptic words, 'When all hopes die, let the Sands of Shadows guide you.' With this realisation, Cadmus inverted the Hourglass.
Time seemed to slow, and then stop. The shadow warriors froze in their tracks. Seizing the moment, Cadmus struck down the bewildered warriors one by one. As the last warrior fell, Cadmus dropped to his knees, exhausted. He inverted the hourglass once more, setting time right again, and stirred from the Silent Plains of Eternity while darkness receded.
Upon his return, Cadmus was hailed for his unparalleled courage and wisdom. King Eldrige entrusted him with safeguarding the Hourglass for future threats. Peace was restored in Dehlmein, and Cadmus's tale became a legendary anthem sung with pride and respect.
And thus, Dehlmein flourished under the protection of King Eldrige and Sir Cadmus, guarded by the silently ominous Hourglass of Shadows. No one knew if the dark army would strike again or what mysteries the future held. All that was certain was that if any threat dared to disrupt the tranquility of Dehlmein, Cadmus and the Hourglass of Shadows would await them, unmoving, on the Silent Plains of Eternity.
