The Shimmering Tear

Long ago, in a kingdom known as Dragora, there lived a benevolent King Arthur and his beautiful queen Guinevere. The kingdom was immersed in an era of peace, harmony, and prosperity under King Arthur's wise rule and the love the royals enjoyed of their people was uncharted.
However, within the castle walls lived a wizard named Merlin, the trusted and wise advisor to the king. Merlin was known for his knowledge of mystical arts, wisdom, and ability to peek into the future. One evening, during his mystical communion, Merlin saw an image of a great calamity striking the kingdom of Dragora. The kingdom's doom looked near and King Arthur seemed unable to prevent the inevitable.
Filled with anxiety, Merlin rushed to King Arthur and shared his intimidating vision. Arthur, a brave yet apprehensive King, took Merlin's warning seriously. Feeling responsible for his people's safeguarding, Arthur pledged to face whatever was to come, vowing to prevent the disaster if possible.
Merlin further deciphered his visions and discovered that the only way to discard the calamity was by acquiring 'The Shimmering Tear' - a legendary gem said to hold the power to reverse any impending doom. But there was a hitch. The gem was located on the summit of the perilous Mount Zephyr and guarded by an immense dragon known as Infernus who breathed fire hotter than a thousand suns.
King Arthur without delay, gathered his bravest knights, including his close comrade Lancelot. On a cool, calm night, the group of knights started their journey towards Mount Zephyr. They crossed wide rivers, thick forests, vast desert lands, and steep cliffs, overcoming all sorts of peril and obstacles on their way.
After a month of harsh trepidation and ceaseless challenges, they finally reached the base of mount Zephyr. The mountain, smoking and shaking, stood ominously. As the King and his knights begin to climb, suddenly, with a deafening roar, Infernus, the dragon, swooped down upon them. The knights, though afraid, stood their ground with sturdy shields and gleaming swords.
King Arthur led the charge and initiated the fierce battle with the fearsome dragon. The fight was tough; Infernus, with his fiery breath and sharp talons, was a formidable opponent, but Arthur and his knights bravely resisted. The battle dragged on for hours, until finally, Lancelot found a weak spot beneath the dragon's scales. In a daring move, he thrust his sword into it, causing Infernus to scream in agony before succumbing to his defeat.
With the obstacle subdued, King Arthur climbed to the summit and retrieved 'The Shimmering Tear'. It was even more splendid up-close; it radiated a soothing hue, pulsating with a mesmerizing radiance. The small gem held immense power to heal and protect, just as the legend suggested.
It took another month for the troupe to return to Dragora, welcomed back as heroes by their discerning people. Without losing any time, Merlin used 'The Shimmering Tear' to conjure a protective shield around the kingdom and as he foretold.. the calamity struck, but ended in vain against the shield.
Dragora was saved. King Arthur, seen as an even greater leader by his people, felt a deep satisfaction over the safety of his kingdom. 'The shimmering tear' was placed as a remembrance of their bravery and unity in their castle, casting a beautiful rainbow across the kingdom. Once again there came an era of peace and happiness in Dragora, surviving the test of time and emerging more strongly than ever.
King Arthur's bravery, Lancelot's loyalty, and Merlin's wisdom were applauded for generations, establishing a saga of unity, courage, and wisdom to be remembered through the annals of time. This tale from a time immemorial proves that no obstacle is too high, no journey too rough, and no enemy too saturated when people stand united with a common noble cause.
