The Shadows of Forgotten Times

Once upon a time, there was a quaint village situated on the edge of an unknown forest, where the days were filled with jovial abundance and the nights echoed with harmonious folklore. This village was known as 'Sanguis'. The villagers were a happy lot, but there was a peculiar darkness that lurked behind their smiles - the ominous trees of the unknown forest.
In those fabled trees lived an extraordinary creature named 'Embris.' As the legend had it, Embris was a beautiful nymph with a flowing mane of amethyst hair, enchanted eyes that held cosmic stories, and an aura more potent than the northern lights. For centuries, Embris had been the guardian spirit of the forest, guarding the mystical creatures and trees from the intruding humans' pernicious acts.
However, Embris held a daunting secret, she was shackled to the forest grounds, condemned for a crime she did not commit. It was believed that she had angered the great moon goddess 'Luna' by falling in love with a mortal. As punishment, Luna had bound Embris's spirit to the forest, damning her to an eternity of loneliness.
Every night, guided by the soft silvery light of Luna, Embris used to look at the bustling Sanguis from afar, her heart yearning for the warmth of companionship. The joyous laughter, the tales spun around the bonfires, the unity in their hearts, Embris desired it all. Yet, she was barred by the laws of divine decrees.
In Sanguis lived a young, brave lad named 'Fentis'. Charming and cunning, Fentis was the village hero. He possessed an insatiable curiosity about the unknown forest and the nymph Embris. Hearing the sorrowful songs of Embris echoing in the wind, Fentis vowed to free her from the ancient curse.
One cherished twilight, loaded with bravery and unwavering resolution, Fentis ventured into the dense forest to confront Luna. Heart pounding like a war drum, he reached the heart of the forest to find Luna in her radiant glory, cloaked by shimmering stars. Boiling with outrage, Luna deemed to destroy him, yet, Fentis stood his ground.
He bravely asked Luna to revoke the ancient curse on Embris. The request stirred Luna’s heart, making her realize the harshness of her actions. Moved by his audacity and the tale of undying love, Luna agreed, 'The curse will break only when a brave heart willingly gives up what they cherish the most,' she said before disappearing into the darkness.
Fentis, knowing well that he cherished his life in Sanguis above all, did not hesitate for a moment. He willingly offered his place in Sanguis; agreeing to live as a forest dweller forever, isolated from his kin, only for Embris's freedom.
As dawn broke, a transformed creature, no longer ethereal but as human as any villager of Sanguis, Embris stepped out of the forest for the first time. The villagers, who had considered her a mythical figure, were taken aback by the sight of Embris but soon accepted her.
Fentis bid a heart-wrenching goodbye to his kith and kin, crossed the boundaries of Sanguis, and settled in the forest. It was a heart-wrenching farewell, but he knew it was the crux of breaking the curse.
In all this, Luna had learned an invaluable lesson – love was not a crime. Every full moon night, she would trail to the forests to bless the brave Fentis. Regretful of her wrath, she provided him with magical powers so he could protect himself and the forest in her absence.
The distant Sanguis, in Embris, found its new guardian, and the journey of this nymph-turned-mortal unfolded, but most importantly, they had a tale to sing of brave Fentis, his sacrifice, the transforming love, and the divine lessons. They found new meanings of unity, love, and bravery, all spun into one unforgettable folklore.
So, the shadows of forgotten times remained no longer in darkness, but illuminated with tales carved in the hearts of Sanguis, unforgettable and heartrending. The wind still whispers it, the bonfires are still lit to it, and in the silhouettes of the past, Sanguis found a timeless chronicle.
