The Shadow Beneath the Ocean

There once was a small fishing village known as Vena. Though it was small and far removed from the grist of the grand cities, its people were happy and content. They thrived on fishing, their lives following the rhythm of the azure sea.
In this little realm lived a young lad named Alejandro. He was known for his bravery and boundless curiosity. His constant fascination was the seemingly unfathomable blue sea that stretched beyond the horizon. But, a peculiar rumor swirled around him that he was born holding a piece of the shadowy 'Coral of Midnight,' a mythical sea entity from the tales his grandmother whispered to him.
One day, while out in the sea with the grizzled fishermen, Alejandro caught sight of a floating object, black as obsidian. It had the faintest glimmer of violet, reminding him of the tales of the mythical coral. Ignoring the frantic calls of the other fishermen, Alejandro leaned over the boat's edge, stretching out his hand.
Suddenly, a violent surge pulled him in, and darkness enveloped Alejandro. Moments seemed like decades as he grappled for his existence, but he felt no fear. There was a peculiar calmness in the heart of the ocean, a quiet whisper that echoed with familiarity. As his consciousness began to blur, a warm, almost unseen pressure surrounded him and then all went black.
When he came to, he was dazzled by a sight beyond his wildest dreams - a sprawling city glowing with bio-luminescence, creatures of different shapes and sizes swimming around. It was a civilization beneath the ocean, untouched by the clutches of time, some might say, a piece of the heavens itself.
At the heart, the 'Coral of Midnight' rested. It was majestic, unbridled, and beckoned Alejandro towards itself. As he approached it, he felt an indescribable connection. He reached out, and as he touched the coral, memories flooded his mind; memories of ancient beings, forgotten knowledge, and a prophecy of the one who will bridge the world above and below the sea.
From that moment forward, Alejandro became a conduit, a messenger, between the surface and the deep realms. He shared tales about the world under the sea, stories of their ancient existence, their cultures, culminating in the villagers' profound understanding and appreciation of the endless blue they took for granted. Likewise, he carried the villagers' stories and emotions to the beings under the sea, fostering a symbiotic relationship unknown before.
However, peace was short-lived. A greedy merchant from the town nearby heard tales of the precious 'Coral of Midnight' and sailed with his cruel men to seize it. Despite the villagers' protests, they moved menacingly towards their goal.
It was Alejandro's litmus test. He couldn’t let the greed of a man destroy a millennium-old civilization. He plunged beneath the waves and met with the underwater creatures, devising a plan to guard the precious coral. The following dawn, as the merchants delved into the sea seeking treasure, the sea roared to life. A wall of water appeared, smashing into the invaders, causing their ship to rock violently. Scared for their lives, the merchants turned their ship around, fleeing from Vena, never to return.
Alejandro had both upheld his promise and defended his village. The villagers hailed him as the savior and now viewed the sea not just as a source of livelihood, but with newfound respect as a living, breathing entity.
From then on, Alejandro continued to fulfill his prophecy as the bridge between the dwellers from above and below the sea, protecting the balance of their realms. He was a beacon of harmony between two worlds which once existed without the knowledge of the other. The tale of his bravery and the mysterious world beneath the waves became a part of Vena's folklore, passed down from generation to generation.
