The Secret of Two Worlds

Once upon a time, in the small town of Crimson Lake, there lived an ordinary high school student named Alex. He was renowned for his keen interest in reading about fantasy worlds and their mesmerizing tales.
Every night before bed, Alex would tuck himself beneath his blanket and escape into the comforting rabbit hole known as his treasured fantasy novels, each transporting him into different worlds that brimmed with fantastical creatures, grand quests, and intricate wizarding.
One day, while wandering a maze of dusty bookshelves at a hidden antique bookstore, a peculiar book caught his eye. 'The Peculiar Portal,' instead of the author's name, engraved on the cover was 'Discover, if you dare.'
In the following days, Alex found himself engrossed in the magical story that unfolded from its ancient, brittle pages. It spun the tale of an extraordinary mythical realm known as Idhun, filled with dragons, fairies, wizards, and a captivating narrative of a lost hero.
On a stormy night, while reading the chapter about the lost hero's mysterious portal, an odd occurrence took Alex by surprise. A gust of wind rushed through his window, flipping the pages of the book wildly. A blue shimmering light emanated from the book, and before he knew it, he was pulled into it.
Alex found himself standing in Idhun, the world described in the book, surrounded by lush green forests and towering medieval-style castles. A fairy by the named Elysia found him and introduced him to the magical world of Idhun. She explained that him being there was no accident, for Alex was the lost hero reincarnate.
The lost hero, once a mortal from the realm that Alex called home, was the only being capable of stepping between the two worlds and defending Idhun from an awakening ancient darkness, Mallandra.
Realizing the weight of his new role, Alex trained under sage wizard Mervinth, honing his skills and gaining knowledge about the impending darkness. Along the way, he formed unshakable bonds with the inhabitants of Idhun, discovering a sense of belonging he had never found back home.
The day of battle arrived, and Mallandra had begun her onslaught on Idhun. Sword in hand and allies by his side, Alex led the battle, putting to use every inch of his training. After a daunting and rather life-threatening battle, Alex managed to push back Mallandra into her realm, sealing her off along with the threat she posed.
Upon his triumphant return, Alex was met with joyous cheer and celebrations throughout Idhun. There was, however, a tinge of sadness as he realised it was time to return to his world.
Elysia and Mervinth offered him a choice. He could go back to his world, unremembering of the events in Idhun, or stay here, leaving behind his previous life. Alex chose to return but asked to keep his memories intact.
Upon his return, Alex was forever changed. He was filled with a courage he never knew he possessed and an unforgettable adventure that would forever live in his heart. He returned to being a school boy by day, but in his dreams, he visited Idhun, the place where he was the hero, the champion, the friend of fairies and dragons.
Perhaps, the story of Alex and Idhun would continue to turn in his dreams, the lines between reality and fantasy blurred forever. Just as it should be in the life of someone who dared to embrace 'The Peculiar Portal.'
