The Redemption Of The Falling Star
In a world very different from ours, where each person was associated with a star in the sky, lived a young woman named Alina. She was born under a shooting star, a phenomenon known in the society as the Falling Star, a bad omen as per the legends.
Whenever Alina walked down the streets of her quaint little town, people would turn away from her, scapegoating her for all their ill fortunes. The falling star was a synonym for destruction, and her existence was viewed as a curse. Alina grew up lonely, with only her grandmother, the old and wise Anastasia, for the company.
Anastasia had always told her that she was special, that the 'Falling Star' she was born under was a symbol of change, not destruction as the people believed. “Remember, my child. A falling star spreads its light wider than any other. You are born to touch many lives,” she said, stroking Alina's hair. But, Alina often questioned her speciality, for she felt nothing but a deserted island amid a raging sea.
Everything changed one afternoon when their peaceful village was attacked by fierce invaders from the North. The warriors were brutal and sought to conquer the Southern lands and its people. The villagers were helpless against the mighty invaders. As the enemy closed in towards Alina, she saw a strange glow in her palms. Frightened, she looked up at the night sky, and for the first time, she saw her star, shining bright, instead of falling.
The glowing light from her hands increased in intensity. Surprised and terrified, she focused and channelled it towards the invaders. An intense burst of light emerged, slamming into the invaders and rendering them unconscious. The villagers, watching in silent disbelief, couldn't understand what had happened. Alina saved her village that night, but instead of cheers, what met her were fearful and suspicious glances.
Realizing she was more alienated now, Alina decided to leave her village and set forth towards the unknown path. She travelled through various kingdoms, meeting different people, using her powers to protect and heal wherever she could, thus sparking the change Anastasia once spoke about.
Along her journey, she met Orion, a young astronomer from the East, who was unlike any other. Orion was born under the 'Guiding Star', one that never moved and guided navigators across the world. An unlikely friendship formed between Alina and Orion, and he promised to help her understand her powers and her destiny.
Orion took Alina to meet his master, an old astronomer Hera. After few tests, Hera told Alina about an ancient prophecy, “A child born under the Falling Star will change the destiny of the world. Her powers will shatter the status quo.” And for the first time, Alina truly realized Anastasia's words.
Inspired, Alina continued her journey, helping people and towns along the way, spreading light just like a falling star that spreads its light far and wide before fading away. Orion accompanied her, guiding her through the path. They became symbols of hope, defying their stereotypical images instilled by their stars.
Years later, Alina was remembered as the 'Bringer of Light.' The falling star was no longer a bad omen but was revered as a symbol of change and progression. A prophecy once foreseen with dread was the beacon of hope now. Alina's tale became legend, a folklore taught to every generation. And thus, Alina, the girl born under a falling star, touched countless lives, just as her granny had always predicted.
In the end, Alina never was a curse. She was a change, a transformation. She was the falling star that shone the brightest.
