The Orchestra of Time
Once upon a time in the world of Eirland, lived a young girl named Celene. She was an exceptional girl. Unlike normal girls, she could see an invisible string over everyone’s head. This ability, however, brought her nothing but discomfort as she could not understand its meaning.
One day, as she was walking across the lush green fields of Eirland, she noticed a spectacle that would change her life forever. She not only saw the invisible string but also heard a harmony. Mystified, she followed the source of the sound, leading her to the ancient castle of Dolmen. Buried deep within she found a mystical silver Randol. Intricate designs beautifully carved over its surface hummed in a pleasant melody. She reached out and touched it, the moment her finger grazed the Randol, the world changed around her.
She was standing in a corridor with walls lined with mirrors. She noticed that the invisible strings over the heads continued inside the mirrors. One string, she concluded, was linked to one mirror which was a doorway to a different time. She discovered that she possesses the ability to travel across time. Enthralled by this discovery, her adventurous spirit set free.
Her first travel led her to the Great War of Olga. With a heavy heart, she witnessed the sacrifices, pain, loss, and bravery of men and women. She realized she could do nothing to change the past and came back with a newfound respect for the course of history.
This newfound understanding of history didn’t stop her from peeping into different eras. She marveled at the progressive advancements human beings achieved in so little time. She danced her heart out during the time of Renaissance, laughed with the inventors of the first airplane during the Industrial Revolution, and cried at the sight of the first man set foot on the moon.
Especially close to her heart was the time she met a hard-working seamstress named Dorothy during the Victorian era. Both quickly became good friends and shared many laughs and secrets. Dorothy taught Celene about the humble, simple joys of life, leaving an everlasting impression on the young girl's heart.
However, with great power comes great responsibility, and Celene soon realized that her innocent actions in each era could cause ripple effects; they had unintended consequences that shifted the course of history. In one instance, her connection with Dorothy led to a slight shift in the seamstress' life, causing her not to have the granddaughter who was supposed to discover a life-changing medical breakthrough. The realization brought a wave of guilt and dread to Celene.
She decided not to interfere directly with anyone's life, choosing instead to observe and quietly live among the people of each era. But the guilt of having altered someone's future and in turn, the world's future, bore heavily on her heart. She yearned for an opportunity to correct her wrong.
One day, she noticed black spots appearing on her string. Dread filled her heart as she realized that it was her time nearing. She decided to look into the mirror of her own future. All she saw was blackness. Celene understood - her time disruption ability had tinkered with her own existence.
She desperately searched for the mirror of the day she first discovered the Randol. As she found it, she stepped into her past. Young Celene was in front of the Randol, hand reaching out to touch. She held her young hand back and took the Randol into her own hands. As her older self held the Randol, it glowed brightly, and she was returned to her present, releasing a blinding light.
When the light cleared, she found her past self standing stunned in the ancient ruins of Dolmen. The Randol was gone, and her adventures had ended. It dawned on her that she had prevented her young self from finding the Randol, thus undoing all her time travels that caused changes in history. A momentary sadness enveloped Celene at the loss of her amazing journey. But she felt a sense of contentment, knowing she had righted her wrongs, restoring the natural flows of time she had disrupted.
In the end, Celene settled in her time, living out her days in the vibrant fields of Eirland. She missed her journeys, the friends she had made, but she kept those memories close. She hoped her story would serve as a reminder that every action we take creates ripples, affecting the world in ways we often don't realize.
The humble girl named Celene, with the power to bend time, became a legend whispered in hushed tones, adding to the lore of the mystical world of Eirland. The story of the young girl who once played the 'Orchestra of Time' lived on.
