The kingdom's king, dismayed and desperate, declares that any knight capable of slaying the dragon will be rewarded with half of his kingdom and his beautiful daughter's hand in marriage. Hearing this, heroes come from far and wide, but one by one, they fall to the dragon's fearsome power.
The knight known as Sir Eldrige, revered for his valor and wisdom, who has seen the passing of many a moon, is the last hope for Eberna. Though retired, he hears the mournful cries of the tormented people, the desperation in the king's plea and decides to put on his armor one last time.
He seeks the counsel of a blind seer who lives atop the Sparrow Peak, known for her visions that resonate with the rhythms of fate. After a hard journey to reach her, he asks about his destiny. The crone, sensing his impending doom, warns his journey befalls with danger but appreciates his valiance. She reveals that the dragon could only be slain with the golden arrow that lay guarded in the treacherous labyrinth of Noman.
Embarking on his journey, Eldrige first encounters brigands at the edge of Thickwood Forest who covet his shimmering armor. With unrivaled skill and intuition, the old knight defeats the brigands, reminding them of the forgotten code of honor. The bandits, moved by his heroism and reverence, vow to abandon their life of crime.
He then embarks on a perilous journey on foot through the Bitter Frost Plains to reach the labyrinth at Noman. It is a terrain of deadly icy winds and snow leopards. With his heart full of courage, aided by his trusty sword, he crosses the plains, leaving terrorised leopards licking their wounds.
At last, he reaches the Labyrinth of Noman. Here, he encounters puzzles and challenges that test his wisdom and grit. Encountering various cryptic enigmas, he combats carnivorous plants, escapes entrapping illusions, and skillfully evades cleverly hidden traps. After three days, he finally retrieves the golden arrow - an artifact made of pure gold, radiating with an aura of divine determination.
Armed with the golden arrow, Eldrige returns to Eberna, which is now nearly devoured by the dragon's wrath. The dragon, seeing the knight, unleashes a storm of fire and fury. Eldrige, displaying unparalleled bravery, stands his ground and prepares for the climactic duel.
The battle between Eldrige and the Dragon is fierce. The dragon breathes a massive ball of fire towards Eldrige. However, with his quick wit and agility, Eldrige manages to avoid it. Then, Eldrige takes a leap of faith and launches the golden arrow into the beast's throat. The dragon roars in agony as it draws its last breath and collapses.
Eldrige, the last knight, the dragon slayer, is welcomed back as a hero, saving Eberna from the brink of devastation. As promised, the king offers Eldrige half of his kingdom and his daughter's hand in marriage, but the old knight proves his nobility once again. All he asks for is a quiet life in the countryside, where he can rest his tired bones.
