Years later, as an old man, Eliot journeyed back to the cave of echoes. The villagers, now explorers themselves, accompanied him to the mouth of the cave. As Eliot shouted his gratitude into the cave, the cave echoed back, 'Thank You.' A hush fell over the crowd, and they were bathed in an ethereal glow.
