The Miracle of the Tree of Ages
In the calm and serene village of Hartley, inhabited by people who lived harmoniously alongside nature, there once resided a wise and kind-hearted girl named Liyana. Everyone loved Liyana for her wisdom and her intuitive understanding of nature.
At the heart of Hartley was an ancient tree, known as the 'Tree of Ages'. It was so old that it held countless stories of the village, locked away within its aged bark. Folks believed that this tree had a miracles essence, possessing the power to grant a single wish to anyone who proved his or her worth.
Liyana, fascinated by the Tree of Ages since her childhood, developed a deep connection with it. Every day she used to sit under its bountiful shade, reading, sketching, and often talking with it. She cherished the tree as her best companion.
One day, the villagers came running towards Liyana with fear and despair in their eyes. A fatal drought had stricken their neighbouring village, Drysdale. The river had dried up, the wells were empty, and the fields were barren. The villagers pleaded for Liyana's help, as they believed in her wisdom and her strong bond with the Tree of Ages.
Liyana was deeply saddened and contemplated how she could use the power of the Tree of Ages. The tree had stood for hundreds of years, watching life move around it, and was believed to grant a single wish. Liyana had never asked anything for herself but now she decided to make a wish for the sake of the people of Drysdale.
The very next day, under the break of dawn, Liyana went to the Tree of Ages. She laid her hands on the wrinkled bark, closed her eyes, and made her heartfelt wish. She wished for the river in Drysdale to flow again and for their land to become fertile and full of life.
Moments later, there was a mild trembling in the ground and a mystical aura enveloped the tree. A heavenly voice echoed, 'Your wish is granted'. Shocked and amazed, Liyana stood there, hardly believing what had transpired.
News of the miracle reached Drysdale before long. The river had started flowing again, and the once barren land was gradually turning green. Liyana’s selfless wish had saved them from despair, and Drysdale soon flourished into a fertile and prosperous village.
The story of Liyana’s sacrifice and the miracle she brought about spread far and wide. It not only confirmed the capability of the Tree of Ages to grant a wish but uplifted the spirits of people across the land, reinstating the belief that miracles indeed happen when selfless deeds are performed.
Even today, the people of Hartley and Drysdale remember Liyana’s wisdom and kind-heartedness. Her tale serves as a beacon of hope, courage and selflessness, inspiring everyone to act in the interest of the community, and proving that miracles do indeed occur when driven by pure will and selflessness.
