One day, calamity struck the village as an unprecedented drought hit, causing the crops to die. The villagers' only source of income was threatened, and the predicament was grave. Suddenly the room brightened, something like a vision. In his mind's eye, he saw Miss Mabel, as a young girl, learning the pie recipe from her grandmother who said, 'The final ingredient should be a handful of your heart'. It was the love she put that made her pies magical.
Astounded, Marley ran to Miss Mabel, narrated his vision, and told her about the secret ingredient. Tears gleamed in Miss Mabel's eyes as she smiled at Marley, 'You saw it because you possess it too, my boy.' she said.
