The Lost Civilisation of Light
Once upon a time, thousands of years ago, there existed a civilisation hidden within the mountainous terrains of the Amalgerra. This civilisation was entirely made up of beings of light, thus named the Luminoths. The Luminoths were beings that could control and use light as their primary sustenance, power, and weapon. They glowed with an intense brightness, their bodies radiating energy, giving the impression of glimmering bodies walking and levitating amongst the mountains.
Their city, Luminara, was a splendorous edifice built on the highest peak of the Amalgerra Mountains, it shimmered like a jewel in the night. Crystal towers that touched the night sky, woven with intricate, elaborate designs illuminated the skyline, creating a magical illusion of the Northern Lights.
The Luminoths had advanced technology that put them leagues ahead of the rest of the world. Their wisdom and knowledge made them powerful, but their greatest attribute was their love for peace and harmony. Though capable of constructing weapons of great harm, they chose to use their light for maintaining peace and prosperity. The Luminoths lived in harmony with nature, their existence marked by serenity, love, and wisdom. Their lives were not tainted with hatred, greed, or conflict; the ills that plagued the rest of the world were absent in their realm.
In the heart of Luminara, was the Great Orb of Luma - an enormous orb about three stories high that emitted a gentle, soothing light. This was the source of their sustenance, their lifeline; the Luminoths garnered their energy from this orb. It was the heart, the soul, the essence of the Luminoths, it was what made them beings of light.
However, the tranquility of the Luminoths did not last long. Word of their incredible power and advanced knowledge spread far across the lands, reaching the ears of a malevolent warlord named Moros. Blinded by greed and craving for the power of the Luminoths, Moros assembled a formidable army to conquer Luminara. Armed with fire and darkness, they descended upon the peaceful city like a terrible storm.
In the wake of the turmoil, Eldoro, the wise chief of Luminoths, took a grave decision. To safeguard their power from falling into wrong hands, Eldoro chose to sacrifice the Luminoths. Gathering everyone around the Great Orb of Luma, he invoked a mysterious incantation. In a sudden burst of light, the Luminoths transformed into innumerable particles of light, merging with the Orb, causing it to radiate a blinding light that engulfed the entire city. When the light faded, the city and the Luminoths had vanished, leaving Moros and his marauding invaders amidst deafening silence and darkness.
However, this wasn't the end of the Luminoths. They had become one with their heart, their soul – the Orb and thus were not confined to physical constraints anymore. They pervaded space and time, watching over the world from their celestial abode. This space between the worlds is where they persist to this day, as beings of pure light and energy. Guiding the lost, aiding the worthy, and intervening to still maintain balance when darkness threatens to consume everything.
The Luminoths may have been forgotten, but their wisdom and light still guide those who seek. The remnants of their magnificent city, the ‘City of Lights’, can be seen in the Northern Lights, which are thought to be the essence of the magnificent Luminara, their lost city. And so, the legend of the lost civilisation of light lives on within these celestial illuminations, reminding us of the time when light ruled and was the harbinger of peace, love, truth, and knowledge.
