But, they were intercepted at the cliff, leading to a face-off. Amidst the stalemate, Ronald confessed his love to Morveren publicly, his voice echoing through the cliffside. The villagers moved by their story, turned against their chief, setting aside their selfish desires.
The lovers, finally together, disappeared into the depth of the seas. The mermaid left behind a pot full of her curing tears, as a token of gratitude to the village that allowed her love to live. From that day forward, the village flourished, and the tale of the fisherman and the mermaid passed on, etched into the heart of each generation.
