The Legend of the Sacred Banyan

Once upon a time, in the heartland of the ancient kingdom of Panduriya, nestled between the bristling ice-peaked mountains and the deep azure sea, was the small peaceful town of Kalpavriksha. The town was known for its sacred tree, an ancient Banyan, which, according to legend, had the power to grant wishes.
There lived a young boy named Harivansh, whose pure heart was as radiant as the golden sun. Harivansh was an orphan, his parents fell victim to a devastating plague when he was just a year old. He was adopted by the town's kind-hearted baker, Keshav, who considered Harivansh more of a son than a godsend helper for his bakery.
It was just a regular Tuesday when, returning from the bakery, Harivansh's eyes caught sight of a strange, worn-out old man who just entered the town. The man looked famished, his clothes were torn, bearing signs of a made-haste Travel. Perhaps out of innate kindness, Harivansh approached and greeted the old man, 'Namaste, Sir. You look worn-out. Please join me for a supper tonight.'
Touched by Harivansh's generosity, the old man accepted. He introduced himself as Bhaskar, narrating tales of his explorations, adventures, and mysterious artifacts creating an atmosphere of awe and excitement at the dinner table. His stories intrigued Harivansh; he envisioned himself as an adventurer embarking on thrilling quests.
Days passed, and they became friends. The bond between them grew stronger, and one day, Bhaskar revealed his true identity. He was a celestial being sentenced to live as a human due to a curse, and the way to break his curse was hidden somewhere in Kalpavriksha's legends.
Motivated to help Bhaskar, Harivansh decided to unravel the mysteries of Kalpavriksha and initiated a heroic quest. He began researching the town's folklore, listening to age-old stories from the town's elderlies, trying to decipher the cryptic texts hidden in the ancient temples. Days turned into weeks, and weeks into months.
Finally, one day, he stumbled upon an ancient scroll in the temple of Agni that revealed a riddle pointing towards the sacred Banyan tree. The riddle said, 'Under the light of the moon, when it's at its peak, the roots reveal what you seek.' Figuring out, Harivansh waited until the upcoming full moon night.
As the moon shone brightly, Harivansh, followed by Bhaskar, approached the great Banyan tree. Suddenly, a section of the tree's roots started glowing magically. It revealed a secret passageway leading underground. Filled with a strange mix of fear and excitement, they proceeded into the passage.
What they found was beyond words. An ancient, mesmerizing celestial shrine, whose aura echoed of centuries of sacred rites. At the center was an enchanted crystal locked by a celestial puzzle. Remembering the riddles and clues collected over the months, Harivansh stepped forth and solved the puzzle.
A blinding light emanated from the crystal as it unlocked, engulfing the whole room. When the light subsided, the crystal was gone, and in its place was a divine-looking elixir. Bhaskar drank the elixir, which instantly broke his curse as he transformed back into his celestial form, thanking Harivansh for his selfless courage and kindness.
Promising to protect Kalpavriksha, Bhaskar returned to his celestial abode, leaving Harivansh who became the legend of the town. As a proof of their adventure, the sacred Banyan tree blossomed with beautiful golden flowers every full moon night, reminding the townsfolk of the brave and kind-hearted Harivansh whose courage changed the fate of their town and a celestial being.
