The legend of the Last Light

In a world not so dissimilar from our own, in a time long lost in the channels of history, there existed an enchanting kingdom of Lumenia. Lumenia was blessed with eternal light, a divine glow that never waned, not even in the midnight’s reign. The source of this incessant radiance was the sacred Lustrous Prism, a celestial relic housed at the kingdom’s highest point overlooking the vast lands and waters.
King Alaric and Queen Eliana were the keepers of the Lustrous Prism. Their rule was righteous, and people of Lumenia lived in harmony. The couple had a daughter, Princess Leona, whose radiant spirit reflected in her endearing personality.
One winter, King and Queen mysteriously disappeared. As the kingdom submerged in discontent and fear, it was dark clouds that hovered over for the first time, casting a shadow throughout Lumenia. The all-embracing light started to flicker as the Lustrous Prism wept for its missing keepers. Freedom eloped with truth and tyranny ruled, pressing a heavy yoke upon the kingdom.
Leona, a girl of mere 16 winters, was left alone in the heart of melancholy and chaos. She decided to fight the twilight and embarked on a quest to find her parents. Armed with a courage of steel, Leona first approached Maera the Seer, wielding her mother’s whispers and her father’s advice.
Maera revealed that the eye of the storm resides in the Desolate Wastelands, where the Sorcerer of Shadows lives. His magic was steering the clouded chariot over Lumenia, birthing the first fall of darkness upon the land of eternal light.
Leona journeyed to the treacherous wastes, encountering labyrinthine foliage, uncanny beasts, and sorcerer's hellions. Her heart was ripe with dread yet plated with sheer determination. On reaching the Sorcerer's abode, she met him, shrouded in a cloak darker than the shadow of death. With his grotesque grin, the sorcerer gloated about overthrowing her parents and controlling the Lustrous Prism with his shadow magic.
Fury burned in Leona's heart, but she enveloped it in calm, remembering her mother’s teaching, 'A steady heart can outshine the darkest of evils.’ Encasing her dread in a box of bravery, she challenged the sorcerer to a duel, a game of light and shadow.
The Sorcerer laughed at her audacity but agreed, intrigued by the young princess's spirit. They dueled, with spells of light clashing against those of darkness. Darkness tried to suppress the light, but stubborn rays kept escaping through the shadows' veil. After hours of relentless battling, Leona's light was tapering, the sorcerer's smug grin told her that he was winning.
In the crucial moment, Leona closed her eyes, recalling the love of her parents, the glory of Lumenia, and her quest. She tapped into her inner reservoir of strength, powered by love, heritage, and determination.
When she opened her eyes, the world changed. Shadows recoiled, and a bright beam from Leona’s staff pierced the darkest clouds illuminating the night sky.
A sonic boom echoed, and a brilliant vortex of light engulfed the sorcerer, reducing him to mere shadow dust, vanquished and left helpless. On his defeat, King and Queen Alaric emerged, released from a mystic cage. Overjoyed, Leona ran into their arms.
With the shadow sorcerer's end, his spell was broken. The cloud cover waned, unveiling the clear skies. Lustrous Prism hummed happily, and light returned to Lumenia. The world was as it was designed to be, glowing, peaceful, and harmonious under King Alaric, Queen Eliana, and their courageous daughter, Leona.
From then on, the tale of Princess Leona, the beacon of resilient hope and light—in a world threatened by darkness, became the saga of the ages. It is a legend crafted about a fight, not just between light and darkness but between love and hate, hope and despair, courage and fear.
