The Legend of the Emerald Dragon

In the realm of Tandora, where the waters whispered ancient tales, mountains stood tall guarding secrets, lush green forests buzzed with harmonious life, and the rich, fertile lands brimmed with bounty, lived a dragon named Emeralloth. He was no ordinary dragon- Emeralloth had emerald scales that shimmered under the Tandoran sun, magnificent, iridescent, and mystical.
However, Emeralloth was not born with those enchanting scales; he was a dull, grey creature, last of his kin, who were hunted down for their radiant scales. Despite the disparity in their exteriors, an unbreakable bond existed between Emeralloth and the people of Tandora. They overlooked his unimpressive appearance, nursing him, providing him refuge, and offering friendship. It was the purity of this bond that sparked the prophetic transformation of Emeralloth into a creature of undying splendor: The Emerald Dragon.
For untold years, Emeralloth basked in the warmth of Tandoran love, nurturing the land and its people in return. However, their peace was shattered when Radagast, a cruel king with insatiable greed, entered Tandora with an army, lustful for Emeralloth's precious scales. The envious king's eyes shone with the reflection of the dragon's unmatched beauty, igniting in his heart a fire of ruthless ambition.
Tandorans were bound by an ancient code — 'Safeguard the Scales'. They'd rather die than see Emeralloth harmed. Despite their brave fight against Radagast's forces, the battle proved overpowering. With each passing second, defeat crept closer, casting a gloomy shadow over Tandora's once hopeful lands.
Emeralloth, from his royal cave atop the highest mountain peak, saw his Tandoran family's dwindling strength. To safeguard his people, he would sacrifice himself. Ascending to the sky, daylight glistening off his enchanting emerald scales, he flew toward battle.
Shocked and thrilled, Radagast was momentarily befuddled, forgetting his impending victory over the Tandorans. With an arrow engraved with dragon-killing spells, he prepared to strike the majestic creature. The arrow was released, piercing the air towards Emeralloth.
The Emerald Dragon, seeing the missile guided by malice, released a breath of intense emerald fire. The arrow did not make it past the inferno. Transformed into ashes, the symbol of Radagasts's greed drifted away with the wind.
Determined, the Emerald Dragon continued his pursuit. Landing on the battlefield, Emeralloth's colossal figure towered over everyone. The emerald fire reflected in Radagast's terrified eyes moments before the dragon, with a flick of his tail, effortlessly flung the corrupt king far into the horizon.
Freed from Radagast’s clutches, the Tandorans cheered, and the Emerald Dragon roared victoriously. However, Emeralloth was weak; Radagast's torturous reign and the destructive battle had taken their toll. He previewed an imminent threat, bigger than Radagast, discontent lurking in hearts of men, the corruption graced by greed, seeping slowly like venom. The precious scales that were his pride could doom his beloved Tandora.
In the quiet of the night, away from the eyes of his people, Emeralloth shed his emerald scales one last time. He wailed as each scale hit the ground, a death cry heard throughout Tandora. When dawn arrived, Emeralloth was gone, leaving behind a field of precious emerald scales. Tandoran people gathered them, forging them into a magnificent throne for the hero who selflessly saved them, a shining beacon of their beloved Emerald Dragon.
The tale concludes on a poignant note. Emeralloth, the ordinary grey dragon, lived and died an extraordinary life. His name was weaved into legends, sung in ballads and told in tales. In Tandora, the bond with Emeralloth survived, living through the people in the face of the Emerald Throne, serving as an eternal testament to true affinity: love beyond appearances, treasured over greed and undeterred by hurdles.
