The Legend of Prince Sorren

Once upon a time, in a land beyond our physical reach, there existed a magnificent kingdom called Gloriva. It was the epitome of prosperity and serenity, mostly owing to the reigning king, King Elric, known for his wisdom, benevolence, and notable strategic thinking.
Although King Elric was beloved by every citizen, he had a personal sorrow - his beautiful wife, Queen Alena, was unable to conceive a child. Year after year, they sought blessings from every deity, consulted every healer; but their wish for an heir remained unfulfilled.
One day, out of the blue, an old, haggard woman approached the royal couple. Identifying herself as a witch, she promised them a child, but with a specific condition. The child would bring them joy like never before, but would also bring them immense sorrow and challenge the future of their kingdom.
Longing for an heir, the King and Queen accepted the proposition, not fully graspecting the impending doom. Sure enough, nine months later, Queen Alena gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, whom they named Prince Sorren.
True to the witch's word, Prince Sorren grew up to be a man of exceptional qualities. He was charming, compassionate, and intelligent. His sheer presence brought immense joy to King Elric and Queen Alena. However, the other prediction still loomed over them, casting a daunting shadow.
On Sorren's 18th birthday, their fears materialized. A vicious dragon, awoken from a thousand years of sleep, descended upon Gloriva. The kingdom, once deemed unbeatable, was now in dire peril. The beast's destructive power overwhelmed Gloriva's mighty forces. Confusion and despair spread like wildfire among the citizens.
Witnessing the devastation, Prince Sorren, in his audacious spirit, decided to confront the beast himself. Armed with nothing but his courage, wisdom, and the royal sword, he embarked on this perilous journey.
Sorren's encounter with the beast was anything but easy. He fought with all his might, employing not just his physical strength, but his intellect as well. Despite being beaten and bruised, the young prince did not lose hope. He knew that the beast's power was in its heart, encased within impenetrable scales.
In a final act of bravery, Sorren aimed a direct strike at what looked like a soft spot, just beneath the beast's neck. To his surprise, the royal sword pierced through, straight into the heart of the beast. With a final roar, the dragon collapsed, releasing Gloriva from its reign of terror.
Sorren's victory, however, came at a great cost. He had sustained severe injuries, too grave to be healed. As the dying prince was brought to the palace, the whole kingdom mourned. The joy that the prince had brought was eclipsed by overwhelming sorrow, fulfilling the witch's prophecy.
King Elric and Queen Alena were heartbroken, but they found consolation in the bravery and sacrifice of their son. Although the prophecy had come true, they realized the true essence of their son's life. He was not just born for joy or sorrow. He was born to be a hero, to sacrifice himself for his kingdom, ensuring its safety and prosperity.
From then on, Gloriva endured, overcoming every challenge with the spirit of Prince Sorren burning bright in every citizen. Prince Sorren's story became a legend, passing down through generations, reminding them of the supreme sacrifice their prince had made.
In the end, Gloriva thrived, not in spite of the prophecy, but because of it. King Elric and Queen Alena's longing for an heir had granted them not just a child, but a hero whose legacy turned an ordinary kingdom into an extraordinary one.
