The Legend of Lost Atlantis

Twelve hundred years ago, in an era when legends were born and belief was the ultimate truth, there existed a mighty kingdom called Atlantis. It was a colossal kingdom, beautifully crafted and enveloped under the surface of the ocean.
The Atlantis Empire was unlike any other on Earth. Its people were sophisticated, their minds were far more advanced, and they dabbled in a harmonious blend of science and magic, a notion alien to the inhabitants of the surface world. This highly developed society coexisted with the underwater creatures and had a monarchy that ruled with all-embracing wisdom.
King Poseidon was their great king, a man of immense power. His strength lies in his Trident which was believed to be a gift from the ancestors. The prosperous life of Atlanteans was centred around this trident, the source of energy for Atlantis. The residents dearly loved their benevolent king and revered the trident.
However, rumours persisted among the people about the existence of a secret order, hell-bent on overthrowing the monarchy and obtaining the trident's power. They were known as 'The Tritons.' The Tritons believed that the trident's power was unjustly held by the king and that it ought to be distributed to all Atlanteans.
One day, Oris, the leader of the Tritons, sparked a revolution. The Atlanteans were torn, and Atlantis was suddenly interjected with chaos and unrest. The revolt gradually morphed into a civil war. In the ensuing conflicts, Oris managed to steal the trident, aiming to disseminate its power amongst the people.
However, the trident was not a toy to be tampered with. Its power was immense, and without the adequate knowledge to harness it, the result was catastrophic. As Oris attempted to split the trident's power, a gargantuan shockwave rippled throughout Atlantis. The city started to crumble, lives were lost, and chaos ensued.
Realizing the extent of the calamity, Oris attempted to control it, but it was too late. The power of the trident was now uncontrollable, causing tremendous destruction. He himself was consumed by that energy, and with him vanished the trident, also becoming a part of Atlantean folklore.
King Poseidon bravely led the remaining Atlanteans to safety amid the chaos. However, as soon as the last of them was safe, Poseidon turned around for the final glance at his crumbling kingdom. In the ultimate act of love and sacrifice for his people, he gave up his ability to escape and chose to descend with his kingdom. As Atlantis sank beneath the waves, a great heartbreak rippled through the world above water.
Many centuries have passed since that tragic day. The legend of Atlantis, King Poseidon, the Tritons, and the mighty trident have evolved into a beloved mythology. Many explorers tried and failed to uncover the submerged empire's secrets, adding even more mystery to its tale. To this day, Atlantis remains the emblem of a grand civilization that vanished too soon, leaving behind an engrossing saga of power, greed, love, and sacrifice.
