The Legend of a Forgotten Destiny
Once upon a time, in the farthest reaches of the known world, there was a small, almost forgotten kingdom called Voreia. Voreia was nestled in between grand mountains and lush forests, brimming with resources and perched perfectly in the lap of nature. Its people were simple, living off the land endowed to them and enjoying a simple yet rewarding life. But, little did they know, they were the carriers of a forgotten destiny.
In the midst of this simple living, a boy named Eldric was born to a humble family. He was unlike other children. Eldric was born with silver hair, piercing blue eyes and a birthmark on his back that took the shape of a sword. The Sword, the Mother claimed, was a mark of their family’s forgotten lineage, a lineage of warriors, protectors of Voreia. Little Eldric's life was not normal, as his fate was previously written by his ancestors.
As Eldric slowly grew up, he found himself drawn to the ruins of an ancient castle near their village. As vines intertwined with the broken stones, and history breathed in every particle of dust, Eldric found solace. He would spend hours pretending to be a warrior, fighting imaginary enemies and defending his loyal subjects.
Innocent were the games of children until the day Eldric found an ancient sword in the ruins. It was a remarkable piece of craftsmanship with the insignia of Voreia engraved on its hilt. When Eldric grasped the sword, it felt as if time stood still. His blue eyes sparkled with an inexplicable spark of familiarity and destiny. Eldric felt as if some magnificent force surged into him, a force that brought about the inheritance of training, battles, and victories that his forefathers experienced. His birthmark burned as if awakened from a long slumber.
An old sage, Lorian, who had been silently observing these events for years, finally revealed himself. He saw himself as the guide to Eldric, who was reluctant and afraid to accept his true destiny. The restless spirit of the warrior within Eldric desired to accept the power, whereas his naïve heart wished for the quaint life he was used to living.
Under Lorian's wise tutelage, Eldric grew into a magnificent warrior, mastering every battle art, spell, and technique handed down in their line. However, the reason behind all this preparation was still concealed from Eldric until one day when an unknown darkness began to cover Voreia.
Lorian revealed a prophecy foreseen by his ancestors, akin to an eclipse, when daylight would be eclipsed by darkness. He explained that the power inherited by Eldric was designed to combat this apocalypse.
Armed with the power of ancient warriors and the wisdom of Lorian, Eldric rose to protect his home. He led his people not as a king but as the child of Voreia, its true protector. The darkness was intense, but light always finds a way. After days of roaring battles and moments of despair and darkness at the edge of defeat, Eldric emerged victorious.
The darkness descended back to wherever it came from, and Voreia was once again embraced with the warmth of the sun. Eldric, once a normal village boy, was now the hero and protector of his kingdom. The simple and humble boy had accepted his forgotten destiny and, in doing so, etched his name in the history of Voreia.
Thereafter, the story of Eldric was retold generation after generation, as a testimony of courage, destiny, and the legend of a forgotten lineage. Voreia remained an epitome of peace, and though Eldric left, his legacy continued through the ages, inspiring generations, and embodying the spirit of Voreia - the spirit of resilience and the courage to face destiny, regardless of its strength or source.
