The Legacy of the Crimson Glowadeer
Once upon a time in the heart of the Mosaic Forest, far from the reach of what is considered familiar, there existed a tribe of indigo-hued creatures known as the Glowadeers. Sporting large, luminescent, deer-like antlers that shone a mesmerizing glow under the silver moonlight, they were the keepers of dreams.
For centuries, the Glowadeers had been gifting dreams to every mortal that drifted away into slumber. Their dream nectar, divine and bittersweet, was to blame for the infinite dreams of the world. They had a strict code; nightmares were forbidden. The forest creatures revered their work, protecting them fiercely from any threat. Harmony reigned.
Amongst the Glowadeers was a peculiar one named Solinar. Unlike others, Solinar's antlers were a radiant crimson, a symbol of difference he bore from adolescence, leading to his isolation due to the Glowadeers' unwelcoming nature to differences. However, Solinar's ability to weave dreams surpassed those of his tribe, for his dreams held a unique quality – the power of unadulterated realness.
As time passed, a dark entity known as Maevra crept out from the shadows of the Abyss Beyond, drawn towards the dream-woven aura of the Mosaic Forest. Plotting to claim the dream nectar for herself, Maevra infiltrated the forest and orchestrated the devastating demise of the Glowadeers.
Solinar, who had been away from the commune, returned to find his tribe obliterated, the dream essence ransacked. Heartbroken and wrapped in guilt for his solitude from his fellowmen, he resolved to redeem himself by retrieving the dream essence from Maevra.
His journey through the Abyss was fraught with nightmareish creatures, perilous terrains, and haunting despair. Throughout the journey, Solinar often felt drawn to bring his tribemates back in his dreams, but the harsh reality would stubbornly dent his hopes each time. Yet, his crimson antlers stood resiliently, guiding his determination brilliantly through the darkness.
After what seemed like infinite cycles of the moon, Solinar finally braved enough to stand before Maevra. Without fear for his life, he looked straight into the eyes of Maevra and demanded the return of the dream essence. Unfazed, Maevra cruelly declined, stating it now lingered in the abyss, fuelling the nightmares of the world.
Refusing to succumb, Solinar challenged Maevra to a dream-duel, against the tradition of his own tribe. For the first time ever, nightmares were to clash with the dreams. The battle ensued for days, with Solinar battling Maevra's haunting nightmares using dreams of hope, love, and remembrance of his tribe.
On the umpteenth day, in the climax of the battle, Solinar unleashed a dream so vivid, so full of longing to restore his tribe's glory, that it overflowed with the essence of the Glowadeers' dreams. This particular dream was so intense, it consumed Maevra's nightmares and washed over her with such magnitude, that the pure essence of it compelled her to return the stolen dream nectar.
Victorious, Solinar returned to the Mosaic Forest with the reclaimed dream nectar. The forest creatures cheered in unison, restoring life back to their sacred place from their own share of dream essence. Although the Glowadeers couldn't be brought back, their legacy remained, untamed and resplendent through Solinar.
From then on, Solinar went on to channel dreams into the mortal realm, incorporating sweet nightmares, for he realized; nightmares are dreams too, a slice of reality, a reminder of our humanity, and sometimes, a prod towards bravery. And so, the world slept under the radiance of a crimson glow shrouding over their dreams of uncensored reality and hope, whispers of Glowadeers' undying legacy.
