The Last Verse of Avalon

Avalon, the city of magic, stood centuries ago, guarded by the sorcerers who channelled their wisdom to protect the crown, its people, and the sacred artifact, the Ark of Luminary. The city shone brightly, its magic giving it an ethereal beauty, unmatched by any city in the world. But all this was devastated one fateful night, all on account of an evil sorcerer, Zeriphon.
Zeriphon studied the dark arts, enveloping himself in the corruption of magic, distancing himself from Avalon's sacred traditions. Driven by ambition, he sought the Ark of Luminary- a relic said to hold unmeasurable power. With it, he aimed to seize the throne, destroy the city, and become invincible.
So, Zeriphon conceived a grisly plot to dethrone the king, using the very power that was meant to safeguard Avalon. One night, amidst the full moon's glory, he attacked the castle. Zeriphon’s sinister magic clouded the city. He overpowered the city's guardians and made his way to the throne. But before he could seize the Ark, the king, whose name was lost in the annals of history, shattered it.
A blinding light engulfed the castle, and the relic's shards spread across the kingdoms. Zeriphon's dream died with the obliteration of the Ark. Though Avalon crumbled, and innocent lives were lost, the king’s sacrifice ensured that evil did not possess the relic’s immense power.
Avalon was reduced to ruins, its former glory a memory, alive only in the hearts of the few surviving sorcerers. Among them was Seren, who, despite everything, held onto the glimmer of hope for Avalon’s resurrection. He was among the most loyal to the city, refusing to abandon even its ruin. The few shards of the Ark that was in possession became his torch in the night.
Beyond Avalon's fallen walls, kingdoms battled each other ruthlessly to claim the scattered shards wantonly. However, the shards were infused with protective magic, accessible only to the true heir of Avalon's throne. Seren believed that the lost prince survived Zeriphon's attack and was somewhere among the people, oblivious of his lineage and destiny.
Guided by this belief, Seren set out on a journey, with the hope to find the lost prince. He walked through deserts, crossed rivers, climbed mountains, and roamed through forests. While many a time, his faith wavered, the old guardian held onto it firmly. After years of futile search, when he was on the verge of giving up, he found the heir in a small village, named Arion.
Seren trained Arion in the art of sorcery and chivalry, helping him uncover his destiny and prepare for it. Once he was ready, they set off on a journey to reclaim the lost shards, battling the unforgiving wilderness, formidable knights, and crafty sorcerers.
The journey was gruelling, but their resolve didn't waver. In time, they had claimed most of the shards. One final piece remained, held by a powerful sorcerer-king who had conquered many kingdoms.
In a fight that would mark the end of their journey, Arion and the sorcerer-king clashed. It was a battle of fierce magic and courage. Arion, with Arion’s aid, defeated the sorcerer-king and claimed the final shard. The collected shards joined to form the Ark. Bright light filled the air as Avalon rose from its ruins, restoring its ethereal beauty.
Zeriphon, who had been lurking in the shadows, saw this as his chance. He attacked Arion, aiming to seize the Ark. A fierce battle ensued, testing both Arion's sorcery and heart. But Arion, guided by Seren and the love for his city, overpowered Zeriphon, ending his reign of terror for good.
With the danger past and Avalon restored, Arion ascended the throne as the rightful king. The prophecy of Avalon's restoration had come to pass. Avalon, now more splendid than ever seen before, had risen with the dawn. With it rose the hopes of its people, and a lasting peace guided by a righteous King and its loyal guardian. The Last Verse of Avalon had been written, not in ominous doom but in the blooming dawn of hope and justice.
