The Last Survivor of Lorka
Centuries ago, a verdant planet named Lorka existed, teeming with exotic flora, impressively evolved fauna and an intelligent species with extraordinary abilities: the Lorkans. Despite their intrinsic tranquillity and diplomatic nature, their world found itself at the pointy end of a horrific war, waged by an envious alien species, the Zorgons, ruthlessly ravaging Lorka. Yet among the ashes of destruction, a single being survived – a baby Lorkan, safely tucked inside a celestial pod and sent across the cosmos towards Earth.
The pod found its landing on a quaint farmstead in Nebraska, harboring Martha and Jack, a childless couple. Discovering the mysterious celestial pod with a baby, they were taken aback, but, filled with compassion, they adopted the strange child, naming him Leo.
As the years passed, Leo started to demonstrate abilities far beyond those of a typical human. With superhuman strength, speed, the skill to control elements, and the ability to heal, Leo was no ordinary boy.
Leo, now a young adult, protected his town by secretly using his exceptional powers. He repaired broken structures overnight, helped with disastrous weather situations, and safeguarded his little town from dangers unseen and unheard. The Living Legend, they called him.
However, the whispers of a Living Legend caught the attention of Agent Hill, a member of an undisclosed governmental agency monitoring extraterrestrial activities. Intrigued by the stories, Hill paid a visit to Nebraska. The agent's sharp instincts quickly picked up on Leo's extraordinary talents, and he realized Leo could either be a formidable weapon or a global threat.
So, Agent Hill approached Leo, revealing the truth about his alien origins based on his agency's in-depth study of the celestial pod found buried near his home. The revelation was a shock to Leo, tearing his identity apart. But with the agent genuinely offering guidance, Leo agreed to be trained and contribute to planetary security.
Life was tumultuous, as Leo tried to balance his training, maintain his anonymity, and cope with the chronic pain of being the sole survivor of an extinct civilization. He aimed not for revenge, but to prevent Earth from suffering a similar fate, a mentality further instilled by his farmhouse upbringing.
Meanwhile, Zorgons, having discovered the last survivor of Lorka, marked Earth as their next conquest. They began to manipulate the Earth's core, initiating a series of natural calamities, increasing in both frequency and intensity.
Leo, realizing the Zorgons' intentions, knew he had to stop them to save his new home planet. After an epic cosmic showdown, he managed to defeat the Zorgons and avert the imminent catastrophe. Yet, the victory was bittersweet, as Earth had witnessed significant devastation, and Leo's alien identity was revealed.
But instead of fearing him, the world saluted his bravery and hailed him as a hero. The home he once thought he'd lose accepted Leo just as he was, and in this acceptance, Leo found a sense of belonging like nowhere else.
Through his intergalactic struggles and triumph, Leo exemplified that home isn't just a place but a feeling of acceptance and love — a lesson learnt from a human family by a lonely alien child. Those without roots can still grow, and those without a past can still have a future, and merely one individual could be a beacon against the overwhelming darkness. Thus, it was the chronicle of the Last Survivor of Lorka.
