The Last Stardust
Once upon a time, in the boundless cosmos lay a galaxy named Andromeda. Nestled within its swirling grasp was a planet called Zephyria, teeming with sentient lifeforms known by humans as aliens. Their civilization was a leap beyond ours, wielding the supernatural ability to harness and manipulate stardust, the raw ingredient of creation itself. On this thriving planet, the story of our protagonist, Elio, unfolds.
Elio was an uncommon entity, possessing a perpetual fascination with the stardust’s extraordinary potential. Unlike his kin who had the ability to wield stardust innately, Elio was born without this supernatural ability. His world revolved around a single desire: to decode the secrets locked within the star fragments, hoping that one day he might become capable of wielding stardust.
Working persistently in solitude, he created a handheld device 'the Astral Codex' which could harness the cosmic essence from stardust. Elio soon became a virtuoso of stardust manipulation, outperforming even the innate wielders. Empowered by both science and magic, Elio’s life took on a radiant hue. Yet, he was unaware of the storm approaching his paradise.
As the Zephyrians lived out their content lives, a threat loomed large - a black hole began to form near Andromeda. Panic spread like wildfire and a catastrophic exodus began, with inhabitants leaving never to return. With a heavy heart, Elio decided to remain on his home turf, determined to save Zephyria with the monumental power of stardust.
His unwavering resolution rekindled hope among the terrified inhabitants. United, they collected every speck of stardust-spirits of deceased stars. Elio activated the Astral Codex and channelled the tremendous energy from the stardust. However, the black hole’s intensity was beyond his expectations, testing his limits. As resistance waned, a colossal beam of starlight cascaded from above, striking Elio and imbuing him with celestial power.
Elio ascended, becoming a being of pure stardust, an embodiment of cosmic energy - a Starbound. He hurled himself towards the black hole, releasing an explosion of energy so intense that it disrupted the black hole's event horizon, halting its progression.
In the aftermath, a faint remnant of Elio, now the last stardust, drifted towards Zephyria. His final act not only saved his planet but reversed the curse of his birth, granting every Zephyrian the capacity to become a Starbound. Elio’s sacrifice was commemorated forever in the hearts of Zephyrians and the night skies that morphed into a magnificent tapestry of celestial bodies emitting multicoloured luminescence, Elio's final testament to his people.
