The Last Light of Soleon

Once upon a time, in the far corners of the cosmos, lay a distant star system, Morelpora. In the core of this system, there existed the vibrant and lush green planet of Soleon. Soleon was filled with splendid natural wonders, countless exotic species, and the extraordinarily intelligent, Soleanites. The Soleanites were humanoid beings with intriguing, luminescent skin that glowed with varying patterns based upon their emotions. With advanced mastery over technology and arts, their civilization had flourished for ten millennia, and they were deemed the 'Glowing Gems' of the Universe.
One day, a catastrophic celestial event occurred—an oversized dark comet, Voidstar, entered the Morelpora System. Astrologists predicted VOIDSTAR would pass close to Soleon, causing a massive eclipse, engulfing the planet into eternal darkness, a state known to drain the light, life, and energy from the Soleanites. Panic and chaos ensued, but their hope never perished.
The Soleanites' council convened; their ancient texts referred to 'The Last Sun Dial,' a device believed to hold the power to harness and store the sunlight. Unfortunately, the means of creating the device had been lost ages ago. The council turned to Morella, the wisest and most skilled scientist, for assistance. Morella, whose life was dedicated to studying Soleon's ancient knowledge, was the Soleanites' only hope.
Morella began her relentless pursuits, pouring through every piece of lore and relic she could find. With every passing day, the looming Voidstar came closer, darkening their star's light, casting long and eerie shadows over the once vibrant planet. Their luminescent glow started to fade away, matching the slowly diminishing brightness of their surroundings.
After relentless trials, Morella successfully synthesized ‘The Last Sun Dial'. However, the device needed a core. The texts suggested a 'Golden Teardrop,' a rare element known for its heat resistance and immense energy storage capabilities, but it was scarce. Morella realized that only one such artifact was left, which was embedded in her own heart, a family heirloom passed through generations for centuries.
She was torn apart by anxiety and despair. To save her people, she'd need to sacrifice her life. Morella retreated into solitude, too heavy to face her world. However, when she looked up at the dimming sky, she realized that letting fear overcome her resolve wasn't the solution. The entire planet was plunging into darkness and gloom; they needed a ray of hope—the Last Light of Soleon.
Evening settled as Morella made her decision. She performed the ritual to extract her 'Golden Teardrop' and prepare the device. The energy from her heart dimmed her glow, rendering her weak. As she connected her 'Golden Teardrop' to the 'Sun Dial,' a powerful beam shot towards the sky, to their star Elio. The machine roared to life, the air filled with radiant golden energy, infusing into Soleon's atmosphere, lighting the night brighter than any day they had seen.
As the planet witnessed the miracle of an artificial sunrise, Morella's life force drained completely. She collapsed, her glow dim to a mere, weak flicker. Her sacrifice had worked, the 'Last Sun Dial' captured Elio's light, ready to release it during the Voidstar eclipse, ensuring the survival of her people.
Word spread of the miracle and the cost of it. The planet mourned Morella's sacrifice, her body glow dim and lifeless, but it symbolized their survival, the beacon of hope. She had become 'The Last Light of Soleon.’
The Voidstar arrived, casting an immense shadow over Soleon. The 'Last Sun Dial' activated, releasing the stored sunlight, allowing the Soleanites to survive the deadly eclipse. With every ray, the Soleanite glow became heartier and brighter, the lush planet thriving, not decaying.
The eclipse passed, and in honor of Morella, the Soleanites erected a magnificent monument containing her remnants, a beacon in the heart of the capital. Even in death, her glow failed to fade away entirely, earning her the eternal title of 'The Last Light of Soleon.' Her story became a heroic legend, a ballad of sacrifice and duty, inspiring generations to flourish even in the face of danger.
And so, under Morella's eternal glow, the story of Soleon continued to unfold, a testament to their unyielding resilience and the legacy of their Last Light.
