The Last Light of Loria

Once upon a time, in the 9th province of Loria, lived an ordinary weaver named Thane Greywind. Thane was no lord, just an ordinary man with a heart full of courage and a soul brimming with love for his family and his people.
One never-ending night, news of a fierce, malicious dragon called Noxfire shaking the peaceful lands of Loria with his fiery breath broke out. Whispers of his insatiable hunger for gold and power spread fear amongst the people. Numerous knights attempted to bring him down but were bewitched by Noxfire’s hypnotizing eyes, surrendering their lives and giving him more strength.
Thane, mustering the courage, set foot on the journey that he had no idea would rewrite the history of Loria. Equipped with just a humble loom needle and a warmth-filled cloak woven by his beloved daughter, Thane left his village in hope.
In his journey, Thane encountered a mystical old woman - Melda, who was said to be the last seer of the ancients. Melda, entranced by Thane’s determination, revealed that the dragon wasn’t invincible. She revealed that Noxfire’s power rested in his eyes, and they had a weakness to the humblest of all elements - water!
Armed with this knowledge, Thane reached the dragon's lair. Noxfire, noticing the human wit in Thane's eyes and the absence of fear, became intrigued. Instead of burning him with fire, he decided to seduce him to his side with promises of power and riches. But Thane, guided by Melda’s words, stood his ground.
Using his loom needle, Thane weaved an intricate illusion in the air, seemingly offering Noxfire the boundless power he craved. The dragon, hypnotized, didn’t notice Thane bringing out an enchanted canteen filled with water from the purest spring in Loria. Thane poured the water into Noxfire’s eyes. The dragon roared, his flames flickering, and his invincibility shattering.
Sensing defeat, Noxfire attempted a final assault, but his fire had lost its power, turning into harmless smoke. Thane used his last ounce of strength to pierce through Noxfire’s heart with his loom needle, freeing Loria from the dragon’s torment forever.
With his last breath, Noxfire let out an ethereal flame, engulfing Thane. But instead of burning, Thane stood there, glowing with the dragon’s light, transformed into an immortal beacon of hope and courage.
When Thane returned home, he was no longer an ordinary weaver. His eyes shone with wisdom, his body effused an otherworldly warmth, and his story became a beacon of hope. Loria, in honor of his bravery, was henceforth known as the land of the Last Light.
And so, Thane’s tale was sung and retold, inspiring generations after generations, illuminating the hearts of the people of Loria and leaving the echo of courage resounding in the province.
