The Last Great Dragon

Deep within the heart of the enchanting Azure Forest, in a world forgotten by time, lived a magnificent creature named Pyrros, the Last Great Dragon. Legends of Pyrros spread far and wide, a shimmering scarlet creature as old as the mountains themselves.
Centuries ago, dragons and humans coexisted harmoniously under a pact called The Great Accord. Dragons guarded kingdoms, and in turn, were treated with utmost respect and offered treasures and sacrifices by humans. The serenity of their companionship was disrupted when one wicked human king, King Veridis, betrayed the dragons, launching a war to seize their treasure and power.
In the bloody struggle that followed, the dragons used their might and magic but were outnumbered by King Veridis' vast armies. The dragons perished one by one, their splendid flame extinguished from the world, until only Pyrros remained.
Deeply wounded, Pyrros retreated to the Azure Forest, vowing to have nothing more to do with humankind. He hid in the darkest, deepest part of the forest, his heart filled with sorrow and anger, and his scales losing their fiery shine.
On the other side of the Azure Forest was a vibrant kingdom. Reina, a young princess fascinated with ancient legends, ruled it with grace and wit. One day, she found a mysterious parchment hinting about the Last Great Dragon. Having heard stories of the illustrious creatures from her grandmother, Reina made up her mind to meet the legendary Pyrros.
Equipped with her courage and a hopeful heart, she led a small party into the Azure Forest. For several days and nights, they ventured deep into the woodland, dealing with its mystic creatures and treacherous paths until they stumbled upon an aged
dragon lying in a clearing. His scales dull and body full of old scars, yet still majestic. It was Pyrros.
Although surprised by their presence, Pyrros did not hurt them. Princess Reina, with her heartfelt sincerity, apologized on behalf of all humanity and expressed her desire to revive The Great Accord. She offered him treasures and help to heal his old wounds. However, Pyrros, though touched, was uncertain.
While they were in the forest, the wicked King Veridis came to know that the Princess was missing. Sensing an opportunity, he invaded Reina's kingdom, aiming to seize power. When Pyrros learnt of these atrocities, his flame reignited; he was reminded of his responsibility to guard the innocent against the wicked. He decided to aid Princess Reina.
Pyrros soared into the sky, a red streak amidst the clouds after a long time. His sudden appearance at the battlefront sent wave of terror among the invading forces. The red dragon, with his formidable power, rained fire upon the invaders. However, King Veridis was prepared and he summoned his archers to let loose a volley of arrows. Despite his best efforts, he got gravely injured. Seeing him fall, a resolute Reina picked a discarded sword and bravely rallied her troops. They fought fiercely, and ultimately, King Veridis was defeated.
Later, Reina returned to the injured Pyrros with a team of her skilled healers. Assuring him of her kingdom's support, she convinced Pyrros to let her people care for him and soon, he was on his path to recovery. With Pyrros's help, Princess Reina rebuilt her kingdom and the bond of trust and friendship between humans and the Last Great Dragon was finally rekindled.
Years later, under the azure sky, Princess Reina would often recount the tale of their unique friendship to her children, while Pyrros, now good as new, would fly overhead, a burning symbol of an ancient pact now reborn. Yet again, the tales of the Last Great Dragon spread far and wide, now not as a relic of the past but as a beacon of hope for future harmony.
