The Last Enchantress of Eldoria

Once in a bygone era, in the magical realm of Eldoria, there thrived a secret society of enchantresses. The enchantresses were the unacknowledged guardians of Eldoria, using their potent magic to protect the realm from dark entities.
The enchantresses were gifted with long lives that spanned eons, yet the gift was also a curse. As the centuries passed, the enchantresses grew weary of their eternal existence and gradually they started fading into oblivion.
At the daybreak of the fifth millennium, the last enchantress, Maelis, remained. Maelis had inherited the entire compendium of magical knowledge from her predecessors. With this, she bore the burden of protecting Eldoria alone.
Maelis lived in solitude in a whimsical treehouse, hidden amongst the colossal silverwood trees. She felt the exhausting slow drip of loneliness amidst her immortal life. To overcome this loneliness, she created magical creatures using her enchantments. Each creature, unlike the other, roamed freely across Eldoria, making it vibrant with magical life.
As Maelis was content in her existence, a prophecy unraveled and catastrophe loomed over Eldoria. A cosmic entity known as the Nebula Serpent was headed toward the realm. Known for swallowing planets and realms in a single gulp, its arrival was destined to bring doom. Maelis words fell on deaf ears when she tried to warn the inhabitants of Eldoria. They had forgotten about the enchantresses and the magic which they once had revered.
Desperate to protect the realm and its inhabitants, Maelis decided to face the Nebula Serpent herself. She was aware that the battle could mean the end of her immortal life. Yet, she prepared herself for the sacrifice. She cast a spell heartbreaking in its power, a spell of life imbued with every enchantment she knew.
The day of reckoning arrived, the sky painted in a haunting purple by the nearing Nebula Serpent. Maelis stood alone, armed with her spell of life. The Nebula Serpent lunged forward, jaws opened wide, ready to consume Eldoria.
At that critical moment, Maelis released her spell. A blinding light engulfed the Serpent and Eldoria. The light was imbued with echoes of love, courage, and hope. The Nebula Serpent roared, its body disintegrating in the assault of the spell. Gradually, the creature was obliterated, the sky returning to its azure serenity.
Yet the victory was not without its cost. The spell had used every ounce of Maelis' magic, and she was no longer immortal. Witnessing her magic and seeing the victory against the Nebula Serpent, the people of Eldoria rediscovered their belief and respect for magic and enchantresses.
Maelis continued to live a mortal life in Eldoria, no longer versioned by the segregation that was there before. Though she missed her magical creatures and immortal existence, she was content with the love and companionship of the Eldorian people. The stories of Maelis' bravery and sacrifice passed down generations, and Maelis, the last enchantress of Eldoria, lived on, eternally in the hearts of the people.
