The Land of Never-Returning Sun

Once upon a time, in a world removed from ours, where luminaries opened the threshold into magical dimensions, existed an ethereal realm named Umbrios. This land was shrouded in perpetual darkness and was home to beings who found solace in the night, the Nightlings.
The Nightlings were peace-loving entities who drew their life force from the shimmering curtain of stars and the incandescent moon. Each Nightling had a unique star with its celestial magic infused in them. Hence, their life's cycle was tied to the fate of their respective star.
The leader of the Nightlings, an ancient sage, Seraphus, embodied the wisdom of the cosmos. He drew his power from Polaris, the brightest star in the night sky. It was believed that as long as Polaris stood radiant, Seraphus's reign would continue unchallenged.
However, a prophesy stirred unease. 'When the sun that never returns, touches the heart of Umbrios, the resident of the luminary sphere would cease to exist.' This prophecy puzzled everyone. For the sun was unknown in this land, it was believed to be a mere figment drawn from vacuous legends.
One starry evening, an anomaly disrupted the celestial harmony. A mighty glow appeared at the outer edges of Umbrios, a radiance that was alien yet imposing. It was the sun that eventually emerged into the horizon of Umbrios, its profuse light penetrating the darkness. Panic ensued as the Nightlings hid behind shadowed corners, their heart pounding in fear of the unknown.
As the light increased, so did Seraphus's despair. The stars began to fade away; Polaris too began losing its celestial light. The prophecy was indeed coming true, triggering chaos and dread.
Seraphus, upon seeing his homeland on the brink of destruction, made a crucial decision. He decided to confront the sun. Armed with his stardust scepter and the plea of his people, he embarked upon the daunting path towards the encroaching sunlight.
The closer he got, the more the light blurred his vision, but his determination didn't falter. The sun's scorching rays were painful, yet he stood resilient. Reasoning with the sun, Seraphus pleaded, 'Your light is not meant for us. We dwell in the serenity of the nighttime, our existence is etched in the stars. I beseeck you to return to where you belong.' His voice echoed in the vast emptiness, disappearing into the brightness of the sun.
To his surprise, the sun reckoned his plea. It revealed that it was merely lost, strayed away from its path trying to shun a dark cosmic quake. Hearing the plight of the Nightlings, it promised to retreat, but not before gifting Seraphus with a parting gift.
Reverting back onto its rightful path, the sun transferred a portion of its golden magic into Seraphus’s scepter, 'To remember our encounter and to dispel the darkness when you most need it,' It said before making its exit.
As promised, the sun disappeared beyond the borders of Umbrios. Dark tranquillity settled in, the stars twinkling back to life and reviving the fallen Nightlings and the glow of Polaris returned, reshaping the land and the beings it homed.
From that day, the Nightlings put their prophecy to rest. They retold this tale of courage with reverence and continued living harmoniously under the starry blanket, with newfound respect for the entity they once feared, the never-returning Sun.
